From the Streets to Dominating the Airwaves: Whoa Whoa Hot

Born in Atlanta, Whoa Whoa Hot, formally known as Shannon Floyd, is one of the prolific rappers taking over the airwaves. Whoa Whoa Hot is an innately gifted hip-hop artist, creative, and influencer rising to center stage. He grew up listening to various rappers and singers who inspired him and cultivated a profound passion for the music scene. Growing up in a low-income family, Whoa Whoa Hot had to work extra hard to keep his dream alive.

Unfortunately, like many youths from inner-city Atlanta, Whoa Whoa Hot made his way out to the gritty streets to fend for himself. Despite his young age, he was effortlessly becoming involved in petty crimes with the hope of gaining just enough money to afford the bare necessities. As he grew older, the gravity of his crimes increased, and at seventeen, Whoa Whoa Hot was charged with his first felony. This was a brutal experience, and after being in and out of prison, Whoa Whoa Hot made the bold move to change his ways and chase his musical dream.

Though not everyone believed in him, Whoa Whoa Hot was tenacious and worked tirelessly to improve not only his own life but also the lives of his entire family. The dedicated artist made his first step into the studio in 2019 and has never turned back. His dedication, determination, and hunger for success kept him pushing, and after a while, Whoa Whoa Hot drew the attention of top labels, including Pis Po Records, a new independent label out of Junction City, Kansas. The Pis Po Records CEO, Mashaun Baker, was impressed with Whoa Whoa Hot’s sound and signed him immediately.

With the label baking and an intense fire burning inside, Whoa Whoa Hot released his debut single, “Hot,” on January 8, 2021. And with just one song out, the sensational artist caught the attention of other top industry personalities, such as Cory Sparks, VP of Epic Records. This was followed by the release of his second single, “Lil Boy,” which dropped on October 28, 2022. A few months into the line, the single has amassed thousands of views with streams from all over the country. It has also opened up the opportunity for Whoa Whoa Hot to meet and interact with other top music industry personalities.

“Meeting with an executive of a record label due to my first release was wild to me. That made me feel like I could make it. It didn’t work out, but being that close to being signed by a major gave me more motivation than I already had.” Whoa Whoa Hot explains.

Whoa Whoa Hot has also achieved other notable career highlights, including being on top of a billboard. To him, this is more than an inspiration, not only for himself but also for other individuals across the world. “Growing up where I’m from, you don’t see people make it out. Again, motivation, consistency, and opportunity drive me,” he adds.

Though scaling to success in the entertainment scene could be hard, Whoa Whoa Hot now encourages other creatives to stay patient and committed to their dreams regardless of the present hurdles. Life can sometimes be unbearable but can also be fulfilling for hard-working, resilient, and focused individuals.

Whoa Whoa Hot now envisions himself as a breakout artist, presenting his community with opportunities and motivation to keep going.
