“Fumez the Engineer” Donates £35,000 to Young Musicians

British musician and audio engineer “Fumez the Engineer“, has had a busy decade. From launching his career to initiating the freestyle YouTube series Plugged-in in 2020. Between a short period of movement between labels, Fumez released two albums entitled The Mix-Tape (2016) and The Mix-Tape 2 (2018). His mixes are legendary; he has produced for Ed Sheeran and Skepta, amongst others. This producer has no plans of slowing down soon and is taking on a new project. Although he is not straying away from his art form and in the same vein as his musical compilations, he is mixing it up with philanthropy. Read on to discover more.

Fumez the Engineer

Charity is not a new feat for Fumez the Engineer, and he has been exceptionally high profile in helping the youth of West London. His dedication to assisting young people has led him to volunteer, not at one youth club but several, including the Bollo Brook Youth Centre in Acton, W13 Social Youth Club in West Ealing, and YAC in Southall. A memorable event, especially for years 10 and 11 at Hewens college in Hayes, was a special visit from the audio engineer. Fumez offered a motivational speech where he preached the power of perseverance in difficult situations and that no matter how hard life can get, you should never give up on yourself. Of course, this came from a place of personal knowledge and his own path to success, which like any journey was tumultuous at times. The speech was followed by a Q&A, autographs, a meet and greet, and lots of photographs!

From this alone, it is not hard to transpire that Fumez is passionate about empowering today’s youth, especially within his community of West London. His charitable deeds extend beyond this, however, with him simply handing out good deeds off the cuff. An example of this is his offering free-of-charge studio sessions to artists who are just starting their careers. Perhaps this is what inspired his new project. Or could it have been his ongoing desire to help up-and-comers to get their foot in the door of an industry where he has accomplished a lot?

It can be a challenge breaking into the music industry, even if you possess talent. How do you make sense of the social media stratosphere, an ever-important factor in reaching the “fan base of today”? Then there are the more logistical challenges, like how do you pay for even an hour of recording time when money is tight: enter Fumez the Engineer. After completing the latest series of Plugged-in and before his busy schedule resumes with the next series, he aims to hand-pick a set of budding artists and mentor them.

Most vitally, you will want to know how this new altruistic scheme will work. Fumez will take 30 young talented artists and guide them through the intricacies of recording, creating a music video, marketing their track, and so on. £35,000.00 will be going into this project, effectively providing a stipend for each musician. However, it does not end there! Each tutee will be gifted a free recording session and assistance in promoting their track on platforms such as Spotify or Apple Music. Lastly, there is the freedom to release the record with whichever label they choose.

There is no stopping Fumez. From promoting his successful career to helping others to launch theirs. His ultimate aim is to pass on this knowledge and inspire young people and artists to prosper. Keep your eye out and watch this space because it will not be the last time we will be hearing from “Fumez the Engineer”.
