Backwood Brad – From Embracing Darkness to Achieving Enlightenment

Backwood Brad, the rising hip-hop artist from Indiana, has had a unique journey in the music industry. His album, “Travellers Of The Night,” produced by Emilio Myles, is a reflection of the shadow work he has done and continues to do to this day. It’s an introspective album that describes in detail how he embraced his darkest moments and how they made him better.

Brad’s turning point in his music career was when he decided to be himself and stopped trying to live up to other people’s expectations. He realized that being the truest version of himself and catering to what he wanted to hear himself do was the key to success.

Brad’s musical message revolves around changes humans desire to make but are often afraid to take the first step. He uses references to anime, comics, manga, and cartoons, as well as the Dao, to convey his message. His latest album, “The Sage,” is inspired by the anime “Naruto” and covers a wide range of content for many listeners.

Brad’s creative process is unique, as he has synesthesia and sees colors when he hears music. He matches words to the colors he sees and changes them until they match. His sound is a blend of 90s hip-hop and J.Cole, with a touch of Rakim.
