Chef Bernard James Opens Taste of the Caribbean In Los Angeles

Taste of the Caribbean was not just the spot to be at on Thursday, March 23rd, but LA’s new hottest after-hours spot every night. Hundreds gathered in Hollywood at the restaurant’s Grand Opening owned by Chef Bernard James.
“We are number one,” James repeated in a speech at the event.
The night he started with a live DJ playing everything from Soca to Reggae. Beautiful women from Winery Mas showed up in costume, and multiple beauty pageant winners from various Caribbean countries were also in attendance. Guests were greeted with a steel pan player as they walked in and had the option to relax on white sofas in a tented area outside or high-top tables inside. Not to mention an open bar.
This was beyond my expectations for a grand opening, but the most memorable thing of the night was the delicious food. As a culinary Chef with over 20 years under his belt, it’s no wonder his dishes are as professional as his resume. James was heavily influenced by his grandmother, who he used to cook with ingredients that give you a Taste of the Caribbean as he does the same for his customers.
Taste of the Caribbean, located at 5920 Santa Monica Blvd, will be open until 4 am, giving the restaurant a huge advantage over competitors by offering a late after-hours option for LA residents to eat food after events, club life, and late-night work shifts. During the day, they will also be open for pick-up orders and available on Uber Eats. To learn more about the Taste of the Caribbean, click here.
