Age of Pisces (feat. Dj Merk 1200 & Vicious Automatic) and Medusa The Gangsta Goddess
UH OH!!! I sense a resurgence coming…the wave is already manifesting as ’23 closes out and the light shone on the culture has been BLINDING during the pretty much year-long celebration of Hip Hop 50. I’ve got a particular leaning towards the West Coast slant and so it gives me insane pleasure to get a whiff of what Medusa the Gangsta Goddess is touching for ’24. She doesn’t step out on just anything and as a West Coast Hip Hop stalwart of decades…when she makes an appearance pay attention because something important is shaking. The Goddess recently peeked out with an appearance on 3×3 Age of Pisces with Patrick Antonian, and Nino Beige for a cold joint this summer and recently hinted about the visuals coming soon! The clip I saw indicates a BIG move in the artistic space for the icon.

I’m not alone in my assessment, Medusa is globally recognized as a pivotal figure in the advancement of Hip Hop. Her contributions have been acknowledged in several documentaries, including the widely popular “Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme” directed by Kevin Fitzgerald and “This Is Life” written and directed by Ava DuVernay.
The ranks of female rappers remain slim, but that poses no obstacle to Los Angeles underground queen Medusa.” – By Gail Mitchell Billboard, MSNBC Entertainment/Music
“Medusa’s Rise: Forging Hip Hop Legacy Through Innovation and Artistry”
Emerging from the vibrant LA scene, Medusa meticulously crafted her artistry at iconic locales like the Good Life Café and Leimert Park’s revered “Project Blowed” Workshop. Surrounded by influential figures including Freestyle Fellowship, Black Eyed Peas, Macy Gray, and Xzibit, she made her mark as the first in the LA Hip Hop scene to integrate a live band seamlessly into her performances.
Following the release of her EP, “Do It The Way You Feel It,” Medusa captivated her burgeoning fan base, expanding her influence far beyond national borders. Her magnetic stage presence and innovative sound resonated deeply, sparking fervent admiration not only here in her home country but also on the international stage, across college campuses nationwide. Gradually, she ascended to a revered status, evolving into a guiding force and a revered luminary within the underground Hip Hop scene and the broader artistic community.
