Chicago’s Shye Pays Homage To Kanye West With New Visual “Somebody Call Ye”

Antione Christmas, also known as Shye, is an American hip-hop artist, songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur from Harvey, Illinois, a small town right outside the southside of Chicago. Shye’s unique and emotive rap style, is characterized by captivating lyricism and a distinct sound, that sets him apart in the music landscape. Today, the emerging artist releases a new visual that pays homage to fellow Chicago native and global superstar Kanye West, simply titled “Somebody Call Ye.”

“Somebody Call Ye” is inspired by Shye’s unwavering determination to make a lasting impact on music, culture, and younger generations. Self-produced, the song serves as both a call for collaboration with Kanye West and features heartfelt lyrics about moving on from heartbreak, old friends, and pure rap storytelling.

Collaborating with his in-house team of Grammy award-winning producers like Kevin Randolph (Kanye West), NxvaKane (Chief Keef), Chemist (Meek Mill) and Blu Magic (Summer Walker), Shye possesses the potential to become one of the most influential artists and businessmen of his generation. Despite being compared to the likes of J Cole and other upper echelon rappers, he faced multiple rejections from record companies. To combat this, Shye took matters into his own hands and established his record label 1CN Records.

Notably, he played a pivotal part in introducing the late great Juice Wrld to industry sources by playing an A&Ring role during the journey of Juice’s road to success. Shye’s resilience and unwavering commitment to his vision has paved the way for his remarkable ascent in the highly competitive music industry. His music, drawn from personal experiences and conveyed through relatable lyrics, showcases his remarkable talent for blending genres and evoking raw emotions.

Fans can expect a full-length project releasing in 2024.
