Rep Your Choice

Rep Your Choice is a political service movement with the intent to politically engage voters of all ages, creeds and ideologies with the hope of bringing much needed change to communities across the nation. With the current wave of new voter suppression laws sweeping the nation, especially traditional battleground states, it is imperative that this movement rises to the occasion and educates people about the current move to return to Jim Crow-style voting laws in many states. Voter suppression is a strategy used to influence the outcome of an election by discouraging or preventing specific groups of people from voting.

The tactics of voter suppression range from minor changes that make voting less convenient, to physically intimidating and even physically attacking prospective voters, which is illegal. Voter suppression can be effective if a significant number of voters are intimidated or disenfranchised. In 2013, the United States Supreme Court ruled in Shelby v. Holder that voting laws had resulted in voter suppression and discrimination. Rep Your Choice is an initiative to combat the return to these types of tactics in the United States.
