Five Questions with Ryan Butler

Man you are touching everything tells us about your most current moves!

My current moves right now are more work, work, work, expansion, and cutting off distractions for myself and my clients. On the design side, creating more visuals for artists that suits their vision with my spin. Collaborating more with James “XXISTFOREVER” Andrews on design projects and merchandise, and developing my photographer 1800MTM.

PR side of things, tons more behind-the-scene work obtaining mid-tier/top-tier placements for the clients I represent… pretty much helping them with their vision and the execution of completing their goals.

Alas, promotions side of CBS, working with my contacts to get the on-air radio jocks onto these major award shows for press coverage.
Lastly, utilizing my established connections with companies and different entities to help the ones that have been with me from the very beginning get their foot in the door at the potential dream jobs or collaborations. Those are some of the current moves I’m conducting that I can mention…trust me, there’s a lot more in store.

You’ve been working your design magic for lots of the beautiful people. What’s the most amazing thing about being Ryan Butler right now?

To be honest, it feels absolutely phenomenal to be Ryan Butler right now! I’m working super hard, truly blessed, a single-young Black man in America, no children and in good health. I have nothing holding me back so I’m full throttle on accomplishing my goals and helping those that have been with me from the beginning. Feels like I can take on anything! I have to thank God for all the blessing and work I’ve been receiving. That’s what it feels like to be me right now.

From design to PR and branding you have a wide range of responsibilities along with your radio career at CBS. What’s your dream project?

I would have to say my dream project would be to create the category of “Best Album Artwork” for a top-tier award show (e.g. BET Awards, Grammy Awards, American Music Awards) and I would come onstage to announce the nominees for that category…with a lovely lady (**cough** Camila Cabello **cough**).

What’s on your horizon for the finish of 2017 and what’s on your plate for 2018?

For the finish of 2017: Keep working and to release the visuals I’ve been working on. For 2018, it’s all about expansion. Stepping out of my comfort zone with graphic design to not limit my talents to only musical acts, but to develop with actors/actresses, influencers, clothing and cosmetics brands, and a last but not least big budget films.

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

Oh man! My craziest WTF moment definitely would have to be when I saw my very close friend Keith Powers on the 2017 Teen Choice Awards red carpet.

It wasn’t a bad WTF moment, more of an excited-good WTF moment because we both grew up in Sacramento and have known each other since 8th grade and would’ve never guessed we would be doing what we’re doing in our careers so far. It’s just a great feeling randomly seeing your friends go from South Sac to red carpets both successful and doing our own things — we came a long way. So that moment right there is my craziest WTF moment.
