Finding the perfect Father’s Day gift

Father’s Day is just around the corner. It’s is that day when we show our fathers in our lives how much they mean to us. So, in trying to figure out the perfect gift to make dad smile, lifestyle expert and new dad Lance Smith says the clues are all around you. Instead of getting dad a boring tie of some socks check out our new gift ideas. After all, Dad’s idea of a perfect Sunday afternoon might be outside in the backyard or inside falling asleep on the couch. Is he always talking about getting in better shape, but says he’s too busy for the gym? They’re all clues to that one must-have gift Dad will love. That is why The Hype magazine joins Lance via satellite to share Father’s Day must haves and top gifts for dad. Learn how you can get everything on your list at one place and hear about shopping tops to help you save a ton of money and time.

So, you’re telling us that a tie isn’t at the top of your wish list?

I got my one time, man. I don’t need. I don’t need any more ties. Oh, so old school. Let’s not go ties anymore.

What are your best tips for helping us figure out what dad really wants?

Well, you got to listen to him. Like Dad’s got issues, right. That’s complaining about something. Dad needs something. Dad needs to get outside, is what dad needs. Help him get outside. No, it is. It’s like a relationship. You just got to listen. And they’ll tell you.

What are some of the must-have gifts we should be on the lookout for this year?

All right, so look, I’m going to talk about one stop shopping because let’s face it, you don’t want to be going all over town. Dad doesn’t want you to go all over town, because you’re going to waste gas money and he’s going to lecture you about that. So, go to one place. Go to Dick’s. He’s probably a golfer, right? So, go to Dick’ Sporting Goods. Check this out. Tommy Armour is back exclusively at Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy. They have this gorgeous, gorgeous, shall I say, blade putter here. It is beautiful and will look gorgeous in his bag.

Keep the golf thing going. You can do a package deal. Get him a max fly soft fly golf balls here, available in white and multicolored. Casey’s a searching for his ball. Maybe you really wanted to get him a shirt. Well, again, one stop shopping. Dicks has this Walter Hagen, a beautiful polo here. It’s got moisture wicking, technology, UV protection, and it looks sharp and it’s not just for golf. Maybe Dad’s not a golfer, but this type of stuff is what he wants to where he is going to be outside, it makes them feel comfortable and cool. Now maybe he’s not a golfer, right? You know those, you know those fold up chairs. You see soccer moms and dads wearing or sitting in the sidelines. GCI Outdoor has this amazing piece of technology here, it is a fold up rocking chair. It is a fold up rocker. It has hydraulics in the back. And I’m in love with that thing.

We all play kick ball as a kid and we’re probably way better than our fathers now. So, check out this wicked big sports kickball and it is wicked big as they say in Boston. It comes with all the plates, the home base, everything you need to set up a game in any area. Showed that out, show dad up outside and show him that he needs to exercise some more. I think kids love that. And then Yeti coolers are science, it’s Voodoo magic. It keeps everything super cold a really long time. Coming in June, it has the charcoal color out. So, this is the Yeti roadie 20 here, but the charcoal is available in June and we were talking about ties.

So, look, if you’re not going to go the putter or the wicked kick ball or with the Yeti. Don’t do the tie. At least get a cap. These are the new era MLB camps. The blue here, exclusive for Father’s Day. The white, all white exclusive to Dick’s Sporting Goods. These are out. Of course, if you, you know, you’re living in one area, but you want to find maybe your dads from another city, just go to dicks.com. They have over 1500 hands available. You can find a hat there, but yeah, at least at get a hat.
