According to a tweet from Basketball Society’s Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, LeBron James will receive a Fashion Icon Award Tomorrow in Manhattan. This will kick off New York Fashion Week. This has been one heck of the summer for the NBA’s most marquee player.
Earlier this summer the 3-time NBA Champion decided to take his talents to Los Angeles and join the Los Angeles Lakers. Also, this summer James open up his I Promise School that triggered a lot of great feedback from his fellow athletes such as Cris Carter, Emmitt Smith, Steph Curry, Elena Delle Donne, Dee Gordon, and Chinenye “Chiney” Ogwumike.
Following an interview with CNN reporter/correspondent Don Lemon with LeBron on the subject of his school, President Trump trolled the interview on twitter:
Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike! Tweeted Trump

NFL Hall of Famer, Cris Carter weighs in saying, “Being from the state of Ohio, I would’ve been one of these kids. I went to school hungry so many days. There’s some simple things LeBron did here, that only being poor do you know and understand.”
It’s amazing! Love to see players of his caliber giving back the way he does and continuing to give back to his community. It’s awesome, and I wish I was a little kid and go back to that school because it looks incredible. He is doing some much great things in the community, and he inspires others to do the same!” Donne told me.
Seattle Mariners Second Baseman Dee Gordon and the Connecticut Sun’s Chinenye “Chiney” Ogwumike both share voiced their support as well.”I wish I was rich enough to do that, to be honest. That is one of the dopest things that I have ever seen and it’s awesome that he could do for those kids and their families. He set the bar high and I think guys of his caliber should definitely start doing that.” – Gordon told me
“That is the ultimate gift that you can give to kids. Not giving but teaching and learning that is the best way you can transform people lives. The fact that he is doing it with money, his time, family, and friends that is the legacy athletes have. A lot of people say athletes should stick to the game and “We Should Shut up and dribble” Well you know what? They have platforms and they are able to reach people and that is a powerful thing. The fact that he is going to help kids and the generations to come is amazing. If we had more individuals doing that our society would be in a much better place.” – Ogwumike told me.
LeBron James is also gearing up to release his “Shut Up and Dribble Series” that will see former senior correspondent of ESPN Jemele Hill narrating how sports have always been a hub for getting the word out regarding issues going on off the court.
