Who Is: JR (Just Real)

With influences such as Ryan Leslie, Jamie Foxx, and Ne-yo Bronx native JR, short for Just Real is a rising crooner in the R&B genre. A member of the ICMG / 2 Deep conglomerate, JR is a soulful entertainer with great promise looking to climb the ladder of R&B greatness. With his forthcoming album, Another Level in the works JR is ready to deliver a masterful follow up to his REALity Check project which put him and his brand on the map.

With the success of his single, So Wet, JR has heightened the anticipation surrounding his latest body of work. “When it is all said and done everything I do is in effort to be heard. There is a void in the genre, and I am told that have exactly what the people need to fill it.” Getting his start in the church, JR has studied legendary performers Luther Vandross, New Edition, and Teddy P amongst others. Used as an outlet to overcome his introverted ways, music became JR’s salvation. Stay tuned for JR’s evolution.

This Friday JR will be performing LIVE @ The H Loft in Harlem (226 West 145th Street).
