Alt-pop singer Riva Taylor shines a light on female artists on new visual for ‘This Woman’s Heart’

After finding success at a very young age after becoming the youngest artist ever signed to EMI Records, London-via-Los Angeles singer and songwriter Riva Taylor is no stranger to the ups and downs of today’s music industry. Following on from a string of successful singles such as ‘Mr. Right’ and ‘My Mouth’, the latter of which was added to Elton John’s personal Spotify playlist, the frontwoman now looks to present herself in a new light as she returns with her latest offering ‘This Woman’s Heart’.

As well as her singing career, Riva Taylor is also a proud promoter of new and emerging talents, having recently organised a songwriter’s event at London’s Roundhouse alongside fellow writing partner Jeff Cohen. With the first show selling out and featuring performances from The Shires, Fiona Bevan and James Walsh, The Writing Round Series will soon return for its second roundup of new talent on the 28th June, when audiences will be treated to performances from the likes of Sky Adams, Danny Shah, and Sarah Darling.

Talking about her new release, Riva said ” ‘This Woman’s Heart’ is a song about life, so we have involved four female artists in a life drawing class setup. For me art has always been a passion, an interest and forms many of my creative decisions and directions as a musician which I think is due to having come from a family of artists. Afternoons with my grandma, an artist and art teacher herself, who taught me how to sketch! It’s all there in music and Director Sye Allen has done a fantastic job playing around with the visual”.

Echoing elements of her childhood voice, ‘This Woman’s Heart’ aims to tell a very personal story, one that reflects her current period of transition. Having grown both personally and professionally within the industry, her latest release looks to cement her place as a woman and no longer a girl. Paying tribute to those that have helped her along the way, ‘This Woman’s Heart’ is her own unique ode to the life that she has lived, and the one she hopes to continue with.
