20 Cocktail Recipes For Thanksgiving 2020 & Beyond, From Top Mixologists & Brands

Fall 2020 is now well underway, and Thanksgiving 2020 is just weeks away. On behalf of The Hype Magazine, I rounded up 20 cocktail recipes from top brands and acclaimed mixologists for both your home-mixing and home-drinking pleasure featuring a variety of spirits.

Pumpkin Spice Sour

Thanks to the fine folks at Credit Karma — who recently hosted anvirtual Sleigh Your Holiday seminar in which viewers were showed how to have a glorious holiday season on a budget — I had the pleasure of recently learning more about Florabrook, caterer and party-maker Annie Campbell, and the Cocktail Academy’s founder Matt Lander. Below is a recipe from Lander and the Cocktail Academy.

Finlandia Vodka cocktails

And thanks to the fine folks at Brown-Forman, I have the pleasure of attending an online session with Finlandia Master Mixologist Pekka Pellinen later this month. Below are 2 recipes that have been provided from Pellinen, whose motto is reportedly: “A good mixologist can always choose and mix the right drink, at the right time and place, for the right people!”

Spiced Pomegranate Manarita

Ingredients:
– 1.5 oz. Teremana Blanco Tequila
– 1 oz. Pomegranate Juice
– 0.75 oz. Cinnamon Syrup
– 0.5 oz. Lime Juice
– 2 Dashes Orange Bitters (optional)
– Glass: Double Old Fashioned

Method:
– Shake and strain into a double old fashioned glass.
– Garnish with pomegranate seeds and orange wheels.

Teremana Tequila Gravy

Ingredients:
Teremana Tequila (variety of your choosing)
– Gravy (as you make it)

Method:
– Add 1 oz. of Teremana Tequila for every 16 oz. of gravy.
– Whisk over heat until combined.

Candy Crisp Sour

Ingredients:
El Sativo Blanco
– St Germaine
– Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
– Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
– Light Agave
– Egg White

Dam Winter Punch

Made with Damrak Gin, this one is more than fine for Après snowman building, socially-distant skiing and/or a chilly night by the fireplace.

Ingredients:
Damrak Gin
– Dry Red Wine
– Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
– Cinnamon Syrup
– Orange Slices
– Cinnamon
– Cloves
– Anise

Blanco Sour Cocktail
As perfected by Nikolas Hernandez, master mixologist at Matter Of Craft in Huntington Beach, California. Available for $12 at Matter Of Craft.

Ingredients:
– 2 oz. Kostiv Blanco Tequila
– Egg White
– Fresh Citrus
– Organic Agave
– Peychaud’s Bitters
– Orange Bitters

Harvest Martini

Ingredients:
– 2 oz. Sobieski Vanilla Vodka
– 2 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
– 2 oz. of Monin Pumpkin Spice Syrup
– Dash of Cinnamon

Method:
– Combine vodka, Irish cream and pumpkin spice syrup in a cocktail shaker.
– Shake and strain into a martini glass.
– Top with a dash of cinnamon for garnish.

Edge Bourbon S’more

Ingredients:
– 1 1/2 oz. Bookers High Proof Bourbon
– 3/4. oz Baileys
– 1/2 oz. Butterscotch Liqueur
– 1/4 oz. Salted Caramel
– Garnish: Vanilla Bourbon Popcorn, Marshmallow, Chocolate Syrup

Method:
– In a cocktail shaker, combine bourbon, Bailey’s, butterscotch liqueur and salted caramel.
– Shake then pour over ice.
– Garnish with a skewer of vanilla bourbon popcorn and a marshmallow, then drizzle with chocolate syrup.

The Old Voice

Ingredients:
– 1 1/2 oz. Heaven’s Door Custom Blended Whiskey
– 3/4 oz. Alessio Vermouth Chinato
– 1/4 oz. Maple Syrup
– 3 dashes of Angostura Bitters
– 2 dashes of Orange Bitters
– Ice
– Glass: Old Fashioned

Method:
– Stir all ingredients with ice.
– Strain with a Hawthorne strainer into an old fashioned glass with one large whiskey cube.

Starward & Tonic

Ingredients:
– 1 part Starward Nova or Two-Fold
– 3 parts light tonic Fever-Tree recommended)
– Garnish: Melon
– Glass: Collins
– Ice

Method:
– Build in a Collins glass, add ice and stir
– Garnish with a wedge of melon.

Starward Two-Fold & Ginger

Ingredients:
– 1 oz. Starward Two-Fold
– 3.4 oz. Ginger Ale
– Garnish: 1 Orange Wedge
– Glass: Highball
– Ice

Method:
– Add whisky to a highball glass, fill with ice and top with ginger ale.
– Garnish with a slice of orange.

Gingered Jun Pearbucha

Ingredients:
– 8 oz. Wild Tonic Chai Pear Jun Kombucha
– 1/4 cup of Pear Brandy
– 1 tsp. Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
– 1 tsp. Honey
– 1 tsp. Fresh Ginger Root
– Hot Water
– Glass: Highball
– Garnish: Lemon Slice

Method:
– Strain Ginger root and honey mixture into highball glass with ice.
– Stir in remaining ingredients.
– Garnish with a slice of lemon.

Jameson Black Barrel Old Fashioned

Ingredients:
– 1.5 parts Jameson Black Barrel
– 0.75 parts Benedictine Liqueur
– 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
– 2 dashes Orange Bitters
– Garnish: Orange slice
– Ice

Method:
– Combine ingredients.
– Stir with ice and serve over rocks.

Cold Brew-Tini

Ingredients:
– 2 parts Jameson Cold Brew
– 1 part Cold Brew Coffee
– 1/2 part Simple Syrup
– Ice
– Glass: Martini

Method:
– Shake with ice.
– Strain and pour into a martini glass.

The Gobbler

Ingredients:
– 1 part New Amsterdam Vodka
– 2 parts Cranberry Juice
– Juice of 1 Orange
– Hard Apple Cider
– Garnish: Apple Slice, Pear Slices, Rosemary, Whole Cranberries
– Ice

Method:
– Add ingredients into a block ice filled punch bowl.
– Stir together to combine/chill.
– Pour into glasses filled with ice and garnish as desired.
