15 February 2022 Food & Drink Discoveries Worth Ordering Today

With everything happening in the world, there is still a lot of uncertainty going around. But everyone needs to stay nourished and healthy, and there is no shortage of exciting food, drink or health offerings to order online. If you are searching for new food, drink and health-related discoveries, you have come to the right place as I have been monitoring the latest and greatest from online retailers. Here are 15 items you can order online today — some of which spotlighted at this month’s Winter Fancy Food Show 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada — with links to many of them included below.

Kings Hawaiian x Goldbelly

Earlier this month, King’s Hawaiian partnered with 3 top-notch sandwich-makers to help deliver “Sandwich Grams” for Valentine’s Day 2022: Alidoro in New York City, Bunk Sandwiches in Portland and Factor’s Famous Deli in Los Angeles.

Thanks to the team at Goldbelly, I had the pleasure of trying a top-notch Cupid & The King from the aforementioned Alidoro in New York. It features Gran Biscotto Ham (Italian pork leg) massaged for up to 72 hours, Parmigiano Reggiano (the perfect touch of spice with an Alidoro Calabrian chili mustard) and a nod to Hawaiian flavors (by way of whipped honey and pineapple brown butter), all on a King’s Hawaiian Mini Sub Roll. In addition to via Goldbelly, these delicious sandwiches are available via Alidoro’s Rockefeller Center and Bryant Park locations. Simply put, everything is better between King’s Hawaiian bread.

Curdbox

Jenn Mason, the founder of boards & co. and curdbox — as shown within the video embedded below — is reportedly on a mission to encourage people to “stop eating boring.” Mason single-handedly pioneered a proprietary cheese and pairing system that segments cheeses and pairings into easy to understand categories. This help to de-mystify cheese.

Mason’s brand, boards&co., aims to provide everything you need to make easy, beautiful and delicious cheese boards. Think hand-crafted housewares and delectable artisan items. Yet the aforementioned Curdbox is a monthly cheese and pairing experience delivered straight to your door each month. Impressive, efficient and economical all at once.

PlantBelly

PlantBelly was launched in November 2021 as a means of introducing customers to innovative plant-based foods through its highly-curated online market. Eve David, the co-founder of PlantBelly, had reportedly noticed a void within the market for better-for-you products that also happened to be no-less-delicious items which managed to be good for the planet. From this aha-moment, David began sourcing all things plant-based to help consumers discover the world of progressive, planet-friendly products.

Since its launch, PlantBelly has offered a curated collection of product bundles, gifts and a monthly subscription box. In turn, there is truly something for everyone within the PlantBelly inventory.

Luna Bay Booch

Reportedly the first female-brewed hard kombucha, Luna Bay Booch was designed to bring people together to enjoy a nutrient-dense libation with premium ingredients. Each can is packed with real fruits, herbs, Yerba Mate tea and probiotics. Luna Bay’s initial trio of flavors — Palo Santo Blueberry, Ginger Lemon and Hibiscus Lavender — are delightfully-refreshing with a boozy bite. These mellow coastal flavors bring a big city buzz with 6 percent ABV. Each can of Luna Bay Booch is vegan, gluten-free and made with non-GMO ingredients.

DJ Khaled x REEF

Speaking of deliverable sandwiches… Earlier this month, DJ Khaled’s Another Wing — which debuted in November 2021 across 165 locations and 3 continents at the same time via the one-of-a-kind REEF Kitchens platform — revealed the “We The Best Chicken Sandwich,” as powered by REEF Kitchens and available simultaneously on 4 continents. Featuring an ultra-tender Nashville Hot Chicken filet topped with “Miami Like It Hot” Sauce, Get Money Mayo and Electric Pink Slaw on a Buttered Brioche Bun, this chicken sandwich launched via all major delivery platforms on February 17, 2022.

Per DJ Khaled himself: The “WE THE BEST Chicken Sandwich is the greatest chicken sando in the game, without question. You’ve heard of Nashville Hot, but have you experienced Miami heat? Our sandwich is electric, neon, spicy, buttery all the best things, all at once, available everywhere.”

American Licorice Company

The American Licorice Company is a fine maker of candy and its popular brands include Red Vines, Sour Punch, Snaps, Super Ropes and Aprati. My personal favorites are the Sour Punch candies, of which there are holiday season-oriented offerings currently available. For starters there are Sour Punch Merry Mix Bites, which mixes together sugary candies of the Watermelon, Green Apple, Cherry and Berry flavors. Sour Punch may be sugary, but it is low in fat content while also Halal-certified and kosher.

A participant in this month’s Winter Fancy Food Show in Las Vegas, American Licorice Company represented at booth 4207 for all 3 days of the event. This includes showcasing of the company newcomer Torie & Howard for Gummi-Snaps, an all-new, low-sugar and organic gummy candy. The company’s 2022 innovations also include 2 new flavors for its non-GMO Red Vines Made Simple line: Made Simple Blueberry Pomegranate and Made Simple Black.

True Primal Soup

Healthy dining can always be on the menu with a little help from the True Primal brand. Comfort food we crave as the temps are cooler, True Primal makes deliciously-healthy soups that are free from preservatives and artificial flavors. These soups are gluten-free and paleo-friendly with real, high-quality ingredients. They even make sure all their meat is sourced ethically, as its cows are free-range and grass-fed and its chickens are pasture-raised. Now available via Amazon, as currently-priced at $49.99 per 8-pack.

Crackerology Appetizer Kits

Crackerology was founded in July of 2021 by Janine Akers, DeAnne Dodd and Shelley Reed. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, the company saw a need for quick, gourmet, high-end appetizers that could be paired with cocktails, beer and wine. Its all-in-one kit — as showcased at this year’s Winter Fancy Food Show in Las Vegas — was created as everything one would need to create 24 appetizers. Future plans for the brand include more flavors, crackers sold individually, and a gluten-free line.

GOOD GOOD & Krunchy Keto

Made with real fruit, low calories and no added sugar, GOOD GOOD’s line of delicious jams are currently available in 6 flavors: Sweet Blueberry, Sweet Apricot, Blackcurrant, Forest Fruits, Raspberry, Concord Grape and Strawberry. With just 4 to 5 calories and 4 grams of sugar per serving, these jams are perfect for satisfying any sweet cravings. Plus they are all keto-friendly and suitable for plant-based, diabetic and consumers.

Jams aside, GOOD GOOD also has keto-friendly bars on the market. These protein-packed keto bars include collagen, fibers and no artificial sweeteners, giving you a taste of true deliciousness with every bite. The keto bar literally taste like candy, but only has 2 grabs of carbs per serving. Last year I favorably-covered the newest Krunch Keto Bar flavor, Cashew Nougat. The latest from the Krunchy Keto line are its Almond Banana and Coconut-flavored bars, while GOOD GOOD has already recently-unveiled a Pancake & Waffle Mix, Brunch Kits, and Choco-Orange Spread. GOOD GOOD products can be purchased via goodgood.net, Amazon and select Walmart locations.

SpiceWell

SpiceWell is a revolutionizing WOC led functional food business which “believes food is medicine.” SpiceWell’s new line of plant-based condiments are created to ensure you get more of the vital minerals and nutrients that are missing from your daily intake. In turn, this calls for a smart product swap for your regular salt and pepper, with the taste to match. Founded by tech industry veteran Raina Kumra, SpiceWell sets out to find a better way to integrate healthy, healing foods into the meals we eat. SpiceWell products, which are available online, will soon be available on Amazon and ShareASale. They also happen to be non-GMO, gluten free and vegan.

Pop Bitties Chips

Pop Bitties are air-popped, better-for-you chips made from whole grains like sorghum, brown rice, quinoa and chia. Now available in 4 different flavors — Pink Himalayan Salt, Vegan Sour Cream & Onion, Hickory Barbeque, and Maple & Sea Salt — each variety of Pop Bitties is delicious on its own, while also pairable with hummus, cheese or dips. Meanwhile, the brand’s newer Sweet Potato Chips are available in 3 flavors: Sea Salt, Cracked Pepper & Sea Salt, and Maple & Sea Salt. On the health end, Pop Bitties contain no trans-fats or artificial ingredients and are non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan. Also free of major allergens, they are corn-free, tree-nut free, and peanut-free. Highly-recommended.

Tamalitoz

Tamalitoz, by Sugarox, are a fiery, fierce candy inspired by the sweet taste of Mexico. Aiming to take your tastebuds on a vacation from sweet to heat and everything in between, Tamalitoz are a ribbon-style candy, filled with a mild chili lime seasoning. Helmed by spouses Jack and Dec, its founders wanted to come up with a unique blend of flavors that represented both of them. With the tangy flavors of Mexico and traditional sweetness from Britain, Tamalitoz was born. All of the brand’s flavors are naturally-flavored and colored, free of artifical ingredients. 10 sweet and tangy flavors are now available, including the very-appealing Divine Watermelon.

Cutwater Spirits

Cutwater Spirits — which recently made headlines with its first ever Super Bowl commercial — is reportedly the most awarded canned cocktail brand in the United States. Its 20+ canned cocktail classics are made from a portfolio of spirits that includes nearly every spirits category (e.g. tequila, vodka, rum, gin, whiskey, mezcal, liqueur). Co-Founder and Master Distiller Yuseff Cherney began distilling as a side project under Ballast Point Brewing. In 2017, Cutwater Spirits was established as a separate entity from the brewery and now operates from a 50,000-square-foot distillery and production facility, as inclusive of a world-class tasting room, bar, and restaurant. To date, Cutwater has earned over 1,800 awards across its portfolio of products and is distributed in 50 states.

Created by a seasoned pastry chef, RAIZE’s high-quality products utilize sweeteners such as stevia extract, monk fruit extract and erythritol (instead of sugar), and ingredients such as almond, hazelnut, and coconut flours (instead of refined grains). RAIZE’s products contain no artificial sweeteners or preservatives and are kosher-certified.
