Go Inside the Mind of Ola Runt in Documentary Video

Some folks fake the funk and others have really lived that street life…Ola Runt is a real one and from looking at his short documentary he’s come a long way. From the streets to the suites so to speak as regards his transition from on the block doing his thing to the studio spitting rhymes as a truthsayer…wishing him nothing but the best is where I’m at with it.

Burgeoning Atlanta rapper Ola Runt has released his intimate, behind-the-scenes documentary titled “Inside the Mind: Ola Runt.” The 13-minute video, filmed at the beginning of 2020, is a compilation of footage of Ola with his family and close friends. Ola takes viewers back to his hometown where it all began–the streets of Edgewood, Atlanta, also referred to as Zone 6. Images of him connecting with his neighbors on the block and visiting his grandmother’s house where he was raised are juxtaposed with shots of new building construction, signaling the area’s slow gentrification. The documentary also captures BTS footage of Ola rhyming in the booth as well as heartfelt interviews with his family reminiscing on his childhood, personal growth, and his evolving rap career. Throughout the video, Ola emphasizes the importance of family and the strong brotherhood he’s formed with his Front Street crew who have supported him from day one.

To date, Ola boasts more than 24 million streams across all digital platforms, peaking at #42 on Apple Music’s Hip-Hop/Rap chart and garnering 500K monthly streams on Spotify. His latest Harder 2 Kill mixtape (released on October 30) includes standout tracks “I Don’t Know,” “Wayne Perry” and “Murda Gang,” and includes features from Stunna 4 Vegas and Woo Da Savage, among others. ABOUT OLA RUNT

Ola Runt, an emerging artist from the Zone 6 neighborhood of Edgewood, Atlanta, has been quickly generating buzz in the city and beyond. He began developing his distinctive sound and lyricism in his early teens, cooking up in the studio, which his father built to get him off the streets, for nearly two years before releasing any music. He cites Gucci Mane, Boosie Badazz and NBA YoungBoy as inspirations. As Ola’s musical growth progressed, he started gaining attention from his neighborhood and local peers with tracks like “Brazy Story” Remix, “Monkey Bars” and the original version of “Feel Like Guwop,” which picked up organic airplay from local DJs. As the rest of Atlanta took notice, he continued building excitement with collaborations from Young Nudy and 645AR, while working on his debut EP. On March 13, 2020, Ola released his first body of work entitled Mama Tried, featuring standout production from Bankroll Gotit, Yung Tago and Yung Lando, and earning him co-signs from Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Meek Mill and Southside. Ola’s latest mixtape, Beggin For a Body [Front Street/Cinematic Music Group], released on May 29, 2020. Gucci Mane executive produced the project, which includes a revamped version of “Feel Like Guwop” featuring Gucci as well as breakout tracks “MobbFather” and “Trap Cap.” Ola’s latest mixtape, Harder 2 Kill, released October 30, 2020. Atlanta is consistently breeding superstars, with the streets of Zone 6 specifically known as one of the meccas for street raised mega-talents. However you choose to define it, there’s a new wolf walking the Eastside streets.
