Melbourne’s Quiet Blue Shares Relatable New Single ‘2AM’

Melbourne electronic artist Quiet Blue has shared his stunning new single ‘2AM’, lifted from his upcoming debut EP Before Dawn, out February 2021. Embracing a comparatively poppier sound, ‘2AM’ showcases Quiet Blue’s vocals against dynamic percussion and bubbling synths. Exploring a darker subject matter despite its lush melody and upbeat instrumentals, the contrasting tones of ‘2AM’ further highlights the duality of Quiet Blue’s sound.

On the single, Nic Georgiou aka Quiet Blue shares; ‘2AM is about that agitated feeling you get when you keep waking up through the night and all you want to do is sleep. Insomnia is a really terrible thing and if we were to learn anything from Shakespeare, once people start losing sleep their whole mental state goes out of whack. The night can be a terrible time when you are struggling and for me especially, vivid dreams can really put my headspace in a weird place.’

Quiet Blue is the musical project of Melbourne based singer-songwriter Nic Georgiou. Delving deeper into the world of electronic music and production, Georgiou builds raw and intimate soundscapes underpinned by a unique style of lyricism. Quiet Blue is the culmination of a lifetime of musical influence, with inspirations ranging from folk legends including Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver to the electronic textures of artist like RY X and Sohn. 2020 has proven to be a busy year for Georgiou, with the release of three singles; ‘Jealous’, ‘Lost It All’ and ‘Hollow’. A string of collaborations with Melbourne based artists IJALE and Edvard Hakansson has poised Georgiou for a strong summer with his debut EP Before Dawn slated to release in mid-February.
