Zack Landry Wants You To “Hold On, You Can Make It”

Are you facing seemingly insurmountable challenges that you have no idea how you’ll overcome? Does it seem like nothing is working out for you and you are wallowing in sorrow and self-pity? Well, you are not alone and the award-winning gospel star Zack Landry’s motivational song Hold On will lift your spirits and fill you with hope again.

Zack Landry has seen and been through it all. The Louisiana-bred gospel musician has faced several challenges throughout his life including being displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. These challenges, however, only fortified and strengthened Landry’s faith. He began playing the piano at his church and by the time he started composing Christian songs, he had everything he needed to make it all happen.

After you press play on the song Hold On, you need not wait for long to know the purpose behind the track. Landry in his booming, baritone announces that “This song says hold on, be strong, you can make it, yes you can.” He says the words with so much certainty and conviction that one can’t help but begin to feel like “Yes, I can actually make it.”

Backed by a powerful choir and impeccable, slightly overzealous instrumentalists, Landry delivers an intense musical sermon preaching faith and belief amid adversity. He acknowledges that “In this life, we all go through, ups and downs” and that “It can get rough sometimes” but “you gotta believe it, just have faith and receive it” because “he will come through.

One of the most outstanding aspects of the song is the vocal performance. The way Landry and his team transition from very intense, singing to gentle, silent deliveries in flawless succession across the entire song is simply marvelous. The fluctuating vocals and upbeat instrumentation that corresponds to the vigor and intensity of the singers’ voices do a good job of keeping the song versatile and engaging the entire track time. There is not a single dull moment in the song.

At the end of the song, it feels like Landry has given you all the answers and solutions to the difficulties in life. He skillfully
alternates singing and speaking, saying that “When it seems like you just can’t make it, just have faith the size of a mustard seed.” The chemistry between Landry and his choir is incredible and the instrumentation is so vibrant that at the end of the song you can’t help but feel energized and willing to Hold On a little bit longer. Landry without a doubt has made it all look much easier.
