Flux Pavilion’s Circus Records imprint shares first project led by a singer – Laura Greaves

Laura Greaves is officially the first ever singer to lead a release on Circus Records and now, an EP! We have already been treated to her twisted harmony with two singles, but now it’s time to wander cautiously as Laura Greaves takes us ‘Into The Dark’.

Originally appearing hand-picked on Circus label boss Flux Pavilion’s carefully curated ‘Earwax Project, Laura’s glowing talent was evident to us all. ‘Psychopath Was her debut solo track on Circus, featuring the production of Khweziand also EP producer Lhotse, which welcomed a new path for Laura from the usual folk genre she is accustomed to. She followed up with ‘Follow Me’, a vocal which shows a dark persona previously unseen. The track is twisted and seductive and shows Laura’s vocals in their raw and natural form.

As the EP title suggests, Laura’s tempted by the darkness. Her vocals are subtle and soothing in ‘Star Signs’ but offer a sense of tumbling deep into the abyss, whilst Laura controls your rate of fall. Sometimes you can hear the course an artist is entering, and Laura executes this perfectly with her gentle yet deviant intent. Her emotions blend throughout all tracks, including ‘Cult’, an upbeat track which gives us a mischievous look into Laura’s mind. This track is the siren, we are merely the sailors being lured to a rocky demise.

Could we be seeing the start of something intriguing? Let’s follow Laura as she laughs intently skipping ‘Into The Dark’…
