Are You Up On Tribal Trap?

Trap music is an essential part of hip-hop & EDM culture, and Tribal Trap is an integral part of trap music.

Tribal is going from strength to strength. Having only been launched in 2014, the label (later evolving into Tribal Music Group in 2019) seems to be acquiring labels left and right, signing more and more artists. Before the pandemic, they had experienced nearly 60% growth in 2019-2020.

We have a lot to thank Tribal Music Group for. Having been on the scene for only two short years, this collection of innovative record labels is responsible for bringing us the likes of 2Scratch and Skan. They have many successful artists under their belt, have attracted big names to their brands, and are set to blow all expectations out of the water.

How it all Started

Trap Music Group was founded on nothing but a dream and a love of trap music. The plan came together when Stan Wittenberg, a now 23-year-old entrepreneur from The Netherlands decided to start a YouTube channel called WhiteKnife back in 2013. On this channel he would host showcases of his favorite new trap tracks and artists entering the scene, sharing them with his audience. Wittenberg quickly shot to fame under the WhiteKnife channel name, which was reaching millions of listeners each month. Later, this audience would follow him to the Tribal Trap music label in 2014.

Tribal Trap focused on allowing subscribers to submit their tracks not just to the WhiteKnife mixes, but also to the promotional channel that was Tribal Trap. Artists would submit tracks that would be premiered in these mixes, allowing them to get started in the scene without the help of a big studio. The idea quickly caught on and attracted millions of viewers over time. It established Tribal Trap as an early contender for one of the best record label collectives in trap music.

After running the business for five years and seeing several successful artists go through its doors, Tribal Trap’s owners decided to expand. They set out to acquire and start more popular brands such as F*ck Genres (150k followers), Diverge Records and Clout.nu. The name was changed to the Tribal Music Group, and history was made.

Tribal Trap and their collaborators established a solid social media presence right from the first few trading days. Instagram shot skywards overnight, the YouTube channel swelled up to include 800k+ subscribers, and their Spotify account amassed an excellent 750k+ followers. The Tribal Music Group has a multi-platform presence that exposes new artists to hundreds of thousands of views, listens, clicks, and more every day.

One of the Biggest Record Labels in The Netherlands

It wasn’t long before this 2-year-old record label collective was recognized as one of the biggest record labels in The Netherlands by local magazines. After that, however, international fame was calling. Their recent acquisition of Youtube channel ‘Trap Music Movement’ has seen them add another 200k subscribers to an idea that has already spiraled beyond all initial expectations.

Those of you who remember those early days of Tribal Trap – spread the word. This trap music channel has outgrown its shackles and is coming back strong. We can’t wait to see which artists get their start with Tribal Trap next.
