Catching Up With Lex Luga Da Backwood Ambassador

Lex Luga Da Backwood Ambassador is one of the hardest-working people in the independent music game. From radio to television and an amazing awards show, this dynamo has a network that can make a difference in an indie artist’s professional life. The Hype Magazine got a chance to catch up to Lex and find out more about what makes him tick and what motivates him to keep such a heavy schedule.

From the outside looking in, who is Lex Luga Da Backwood Ambassador?

An Entrepreneur from Jackson, Mississippi who has overcome multiple obstacles to become successful and motivate others. Mostly known as a record-breaker and content creator.

What was the defining moment that brought you to the entertainment industry?

The defining moment was in college at Jackson State University around very talented artists that had no guidance.  I had the vision to fill a void that was needed at that time.  A void in the hip hop culture in Mississippi.

What has been a highlight of your journey from your start until now?

There’s been a lot of highlights in my career such as winning multiple awards and plaques but the most meaningful highlights would be helping those individuals that first start their careers and to see them become successful and thanking me as well.

What was the biggest challenge you overcame in moving your ventures forward?

The biggest challenge was overcoming the street life and transitioning to an honest businessman.  Believing that God will make a way for me to feed my family while living my dream.

From radio to television you are kicking up much dust! Tell us about the different projects you have active now!

Right now I’m co-producing, writing and executive producing a project.  The lead-off single is an inspirational/gospel song entitled “Blessings on Blessings” featuring Miz Tiffany, Gudda Da Sipp God, and Ashley B Stewart co-produced by Kj3 and recorded at 16 bars studio in Jackson, MS.  I also just launched a TV and radio show that focuses more on Southern Soul music called Juke Joint TV and Juke Joint Radio.

What’s the most satisfying thing for you about your growing empire?

The most satisfying thing is being able to be a positive influence to so many people of all ages, races and in different parts of the country

Your Hood Idol Awards show is extremely exciting, what inspired you to create the event?

I wanted to recognize those individuals that deserved the recognition for their hard work and for utilizing my platforms to help elevate their careers.

How has the industry supported you in your endeavors?

Different industry outlets such as this one have allowed me to spread my platform worldwide and be able to reach some individuals that I possibly couldn’t have reached otherwise.

You are quite the busy man, how do you maintain it all?

I maintain everything with the help of my phenomenal team, business partners, and family by the grace of God.  It’s definitely not easy but I am driven and determined

How about your health, how do you keep yourself together?

Well I just do the best I can to eat good and just keep moving

What do you have in store for us in the near future?

I have a lot of ideas I’m working on hopefully if you are reading this you will follow me on social media @ssclexluga and watch the journey.

Where can we find you online and where can we find your various programming?

All of my social media is the same which is @ssclexluga.  You can catch It’s Lit TV every night at 10 pm CST/11 pm EST on The Hype Magazine Network via ROKU.  You would have to follow me on social media for all other scheduling including the 12 stations that my radio show is airing on every day in multiple areas.

Lastly, what’s been your funniest WTF moment thus far in your career?!

One of the funniest moments I can remember is when an artist was telling me that he had a hit song and how I need to sign him so he could make both of us rich.  Once he played the song let’s just say it was not a hit song by any standards in any part of the world lol.
