Recap: 8Th Annual Cedric The Entertainer Celebrity Golf Classic Presented by Lexus at Spanish Hills Country Club

On August 15th & 16th Cedric The Entertainer hosted his 8th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic presented by Lexus. The event started at Bogie’s Bar Westlake Village on Sunday, August 15th where musical friends Phillip Bailey of  Earth Wind and Fire, Jason Scheff of Chicago, music director Herman Jackson, a surprise appearance by Eric Benet, and various other musicians joined each other on-stage for an incredible evening of music. The VIP Reception & Pairings Party was filled with great food, beverages, and amazing performances.  

The festivities continued with a beautiful day of golf at the prestigious Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo, CA on Monday, August 16th. It was a fun-filled day with an experience at every hole throughout the course. The tournament also had a DJ, BBQ buffet, dancing floor, and more at the turn that was being served for all guests.  

Following golf, all the guests joined Cedric in the ballroom for a post-dinner that included the announcements of the winning golfers and a live auction hosted by Cedric. 

The event hosted some of the biggest names in the sports and entertainment industry; Maruc Allen, George Lopez,  Ronnie Lott, Julius Erving, Ozzie Smith, Eric Dickerson, Anthony Anderson, DL Hughley, Chuck Lidell, Chris Hale, Debbe  Dunning, Greg Vaughn, Jeffrey Osborne, Jim Plunkett, Kathleen Bradley, Mike Phillips, Mike Woodson, Willie Buchannan, Norm Nixon, Pete Shaw, Peter Mackenzie, Brad Penny, Phillip Bailey, Royce Clayton, Alex English, Scott Erickson, Seema  Sadekar, Victor Green, Christian Okoye, Claudia Jordan, Dondre Whitfield, David Justice, and Willie Gault.

Charismatic actor/comedian CEDRIC “THE ENTERTAINER” is best known for his many crowd-pleasing performances in such hit films as BARBERSHOP, BE COOL with John Travolta, MADAGASCAR, INTOLERABLE CRUELTY with George Clooney, JOHNSON FAMILY VACATION (the 2004 box office hit in which Cedric was both star and producer), and THE  ORIGINAL KINGS OF COMEDY (MTV’S phenomenally successful documentary feature directed by Spike Lee), to name a  few.

Currently, Cedric stars in THE LAST O.G. (a TBS comedy co-starring Tracy Morgan and Tiffany Haddish), as well as in THE NEIGHBORHOOD, which is the hit show on CBS. Cedric is also set to host the 73rd Emmy Awards this September. 

As a philanthropist, Cedric founded THE CEDRIC ‘THE ENTERTAINER CHARITABLE FOUNDATION which provides college scholarships and outreach programs to enhance the lives of inner-city youth and their families in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Cedric has awarded over 200 scholarships and countless incentives through his foundation. He plans to extend the organization nationally. Cedric was honored for his career and philanthropic work when, on July 19, 2018, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
