Debut Single From Breakout Duo Olivia Jane & Zephyr ‘In Disguise’
In Disguise is a Hip-Hop/Soul/RnB meets synth-wave style track with a J Dilla broken beat style groove. The lyrics describe the relatable scenario of being pursued by people with misleading motives hidden behind a charming front. It is Olivia Jane and Zephyr Avalon’s first collaborative release. Both based in LA, they met at CalArts through the music program and started a duo project years later in 2019. Zephyr Avalon’s production and Olivia Jane’s uniquely enchanting lyricism and vocal arrangements combine to create a rich and powerful sonic presence, featuring head-bobbing and mind-bending grooves, riffs, and solos by guitarist Alec Lehrman and drummer Julian Cantelm. Mixed by Zephyr Avalon and mastered by the 5-time-grammy-winning Cassidy Turbin.
