Cortez Garza is an award-winning singer-songwriter who recently began his foray into the world of hip-hop with his new project, Niño Brown. A familiar moniker to fans of Hip Hop culture but nothing about this project is predictable. Today we are pleased to premiere his latest video for a song which marks his 4th video release in just 3 months. An Atlanta native and Athens, Ga. resident, Brown has just demonstrated what he has to offer the world of rap music, songwriting in general and the city of Athens. ” I’ve always played sports growing up but at a certain point I stopped keeping up with stats and just watched the games for the fun of it.” I’ve sort of only followed the Georgia Bulldogs seasons superficially just watching with a large group of friends and tailgating but this year I made it a point to learn everything I could about the team, specifically to write a UGA rap anthem.” “Red and Black” is Niño Brown’s latest effort and the latest Georgia Bulldogs football rap anthem.

“I had no idea whether it had ever been done and didn’t really care,” says Brown. “Once I got started I realized this was no easy feat, easily the most difficult thing I’ve ever done, I felt a lot of pressure to do it justice.” After working on it for the better part of the year as it was nearing completion, as fate would have it, The Bulldogs were #1 in the country. Atlanta rapper Byv_Trubb contributes a powerful verse that Brown described to us as “a lyrical touch”, while Quezzy Poet delivers a more party vibe with his feature, but it’s the chorus that stays with you with a very recognizable hook that will be stuck in your head for weeks.

“Red and Black” by Niño Brown, Byv_Tubb and Quezzy Poet is streaming on all platforms now. The Georgia Bulldogs will be playing the Michigan Wolverines for the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida on December 31st, 2021.
