Back Outside: Addison Texas Announces 2022 Special Event Dates

Award-winning festivals and monthly events make Addison, Texas an entertainment destination

Addison is known as the place to gather and celebrate with great music, food and fun. Its legendary special events attract tens of thousands of people to North Texas with talented musical guests, memorable visual displays, dancing and more. For 2022, Addison’s signature festivals including Taste Addison, Addison Kaboom Town! and Addison Oktoberfest will return along with the neighborhood-favorite Addison After Dark series.

Taste Addison, a celebration of food, music and fun, will take place June 3-4 in Addison Circle Park. This ever-popular sampling of the Addison social experience highlights dozens of delicious bites from the Town’s best restaurants and live performances from acclaimed musical acts.

Addison Kaboom Town! arrives on July 3. The dazzling, nationally renowned fireworks show takes to the skies in celebration of Independence Day. The Town watch party in Addison Circle Park will feature food and drink vendors, musical entertainment and family friendly activities. As a townwide celebration, the festivities extend beyond the park with watch parties hosted by many of the Town’s 200 restaurants. Prior to the fireworks, the Addison Airport Airshow will return this year with a captivating show visible throughout the Town.

The third weekend of September, experience Addison Oktoberfest, an authentic German Oktoberfest with a Texas twist. The four-day celebration of Bavarian culture and cuisine will take place Sept. 15-18. With polka dancing, traditional German games, folk music and Paulaner bier, Addison’s Oktoberfest is known as the most authentic outside of Munich.

In addition to the three major festivals, Addison will also hold several smaller events through its Addison After Dark series. On the third Saturday of each month between April and November (except in September, when Addison Oktoberfest takes its place), a different themed gathering will take place at 7 p.m. in Addison Circle Park. Themes range from ’80s Night Out to Harvest Hootenanny and guests are encouraged to dress for each one. These monthly nights of free entertainment feature live music, food and beverage vendors, games and more.
