Meet Shylo, an Independent Artist You Should Be Watching

Shylo is a blossoming star in the independent music scene who brings a fun and exciting vibe to everything she touches. She’s a music fan through and through and she’s proven that by showing no fear when it comes to tackling new genres and keeping her fans on their collective toes.

Shylo looks to express herself through the music she makes and this new musical challenge will give her more opportunities to do just that. With this big moment in her career and new music on its way, it felt like the perfect time for us to get together and learn more about her story. We caught up with Shylo and got the details on her past, her future, and her music.

To kick off our conversation, Shylo talked to us about the recent genre change and her new project coming up.

“I recently switched genres from EDM to Rap and R&B. I am creative and spontaneous when it comes to the type of music I choose to express my life in. I’m Starting on a new journey with my new path with music and I’m so excited for my next project.”

Shylo approaches music as a therapeutic form of self-expression and she lets the music lead her creatively. On what influences her and her sound she told us this.

“I have to stay ahead of everything so i believe in looking at other peoples mistakes, taking my time with my career, and being guided by my team.”

With a better understanding of her background, we turned our attention to the music itself. First, we asked Shylo about her favorite song to this point.

“My favorite song is ‘Death’ because it’s about a new start after a messy relationship.”

See, like we said, it’s a therapeutic experience for her. Furthering that point, when we asked her about her favorite moment of her career so far it was again about the music.

“The best moment of my career so far was making my first song and actually hearing my song come to life.”

We ask a lot of artists this same question, and a good portion of the time we get responses about a certain milestone or big performance with another star or something of the like. For Shylo though, it’s just about the music and the creative experience. While there isn’t a wrong answer, we admire the passion and consistency that permeates her career.

It’s apparent that this is a monumental time for her so we asked her what was up next.

“My next journey is to tap into the rap genre and see what amazing path it will take me.”

Switching genres is an ambitious task but we truly believe in her ability to do so successfully. Her commitment to following her own creative path and letting life inspire the music she makes has continued to work well for her. That’s our take anyway. Here is why she thinks that she should be on your radar.

“If you want music that makes you have fun and is some dope relatable music, then listen to my music. Everything i make is different, so listen to my songs and see what vibes with and matches you.”
