AB Tazz Launches New Label AB The Label

AB Tazz has a record label, AB The Label, in a joint venture with Ruby Recordings.

Tazz says, “I want to give people chances to succeed. With AB The Label, I feel like we have a platform and team that can mentor and build up talent in hip-hop music. With my label, I want to use it as an opportunity to shape and promote artists that may not have gotten a chance otherwise.”

Utica-based artist, Shai Zaire is the first talent to be signed to the new label. His first release is the single “Dates”, which he was inspired to pen the track because he feels like these days people rather use modern technology to communicate rather than interact in person, getting to know and enjoy one another’s presence.

Tazz has a history of supporting new talent behind the scenes.

Tazz says, “I don’t want to sign anybody else until we break Shai Zaire, because I know how it is for artists that get signed to a label and kind of get stuck on a shelf. I just want to put all my focus behind them, and then once we break them, go for the next one.”

Ruby Recordings chairman-CEO, Trizzy said in a statement, “Shai Zaire may be the first, but I know this is only the beginning of what will be a long and fruitful relationship. The deeper our business ties with our artists, the stronger our relationship and trust. This is an exciting new step indeed.”

Tazz’s most recent release is Yoga with Trizzy which came out in March.
