EXCLUSIVE: DJ Whoo Kid To Serve As Special Guest Announcer At AEW’s 2nd Annual Grand Slam

Founded by CEO, GM and Head Of Creative Tony Khan in 2019, All Elite Wrestling — or AEW, for short — is headlined by Jon Moxley, CM Punk, Thunder Rosa, Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), Adam Cole, Sting, FTR, Jungle Boy, Jade Cargill, Dr. Britt Baker, Scorpio Sky, Hangman Page, Sammy Guevara, Matt Hardy, Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, Miro, Lucha Bros., PAC, Wardlow, Darby Allin, Nyla Rose, Red Velvet, Ruby Soho, Toni Storm, Hikaru Shida, Athena, Malakai Black, Andrade El Idolo, Christian Cage, Eddie Kingston, Ethan Page, Orange Cassidy, Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs, Luchasaurus, Lance Archer and Keith Lee. For the first time in many years, AEW is offering an alternative to mainstream wrestling, with a roster of world-class talent that is injecting new spirit, freshness and energy into the industry.

As told to me by an exclusive source earlier today, DJ Whoo Kid — Legendary Shade 45 DJ, radio host and DJ — will be a special guest announcer for AEW’s Grand Slam event next week. DJ Whoo Kid’s appearance is expected to be seen on both Dynamite and Rampage episodes broadcast on TNT next week. Taking place at Arthur Ashe Stadium, this is the one night a year when the superstars of AEW take over New York City. This show will reportedly also feature another hip-hop personality, rapper Action Bronson, as he makes his in-ring debut for AEW in a tag team match with AEW star Hook.

Per DJ Whoo Kid to The Hype Magazine: “I’m excited to be a part of this event. It promises to have a lot of surprises in store. As a radio personality and co-host, I’m looking forward to branching out and announcing a wrestling match. I hope this is just the beginning of my being part of the AEW family.” More on DJ Whoo Kid and his upcoming appearance can be found by clicking here, here and here.
