Mew Suppasit – Forever Love
As a collaborative effort with freestyle Hip-Hop artist Bumkey, Mew Suppasit has released his highly anticipated single Forever Love. And as of this writing has amassed over one million streams and close to two million views of his vibrant and awe-inspired video. This RnB-influenced pop track incorporated stunning vocal harmonies, a pleasing and catchy melody, and counterpoints some rap into the fold for good measure.
Forever Love has a perfect sing-along chorus, utilizing optimistic and pleasing vocals which appeal to a vast commercial audience. “D-d-d-d-drown in these deeper waters, I’m floating in the feeling of this, should be forever love.” Despite the metaphor of drowning, Forever Love still has a pleasant and appealing sound; this is contrasted by overall anxiety, as the thread of an underlying feeling of drowning looms over our singer. This metaphor of drowning captures this earnest theme with gusto, as the two singers capture the extraordinary nature of love regardless of the danger of drowning.
Fun and bouncy. The song pulled at the nostalgia, with the rapping, instrumentation, and harmonies having a retro feel, yet a better production. The production of Forever Love is very well-executed. The vocals ring out crisp and clear, which is not an easy feature given each vocalist’s two dynamic ranges. This is further impressive as the main melody never feels compromised to make room for the Hip-hop styles of Bumkey or the alto range of Mew Suppasit. The deep bass funk can easily carry the bottom end, allowing the audience to dance along and connect with that particular person you want to.
Forever Love is a fun and approachable track, impassioned yet wholesome; the simple yet powerful feeling of love or even a teenage crush leads into a filing and leaves people with that forever feeling of things experienced and lost, and the eternal question of, “What If?”
