Music is in Her Blood: Meet Ellie Laufer, Singer/Songwriter of the New Single ‘Let Me’

Born and raised in the City of Angels, Ellie Laufer has always been surrounded by music. She was born into an artistic family. Her dad and brother are both musicians, and her mom, a visual artist. On the one hand, she was surrounded by so much talent and creativity; on the other hand, it was easy to feel overwhelmed and like she could never measure up. When the pandemic hit, Ellie realized she could not ignore her passion for music. And now she has released her first single, “Let Me.”

“Let Me” is a catchy pop/R&B tune with an empowering message about self-worth. A strong undercurrent of bass pulsates through the track and drives the song forward. The sprinkled ethereal synths and dreamy vocal samples lay the backdrop that highlights Ellie’s uniquely vulnerable voice and poetic capacity for writing hook-filled melodies.

Ellie’s process for writing songs is continually evolving. “To begin taking songwriting seriously is such a funny thing. Each concept feels so precious and delicate. I need to do each feeling and each situation justice, and give them the most perfect and beautiful setting. Luckily, I have an amazing support team. My dad, Rob Laufer, helps me parse through pages of my lyrical ramblings. And my brother, Henry (Shlohmo), produced my first track, “Let Me”. I’m beyond grateful for their support in helping me to fully realize my artistic vison”.

“Let Me” and the accompanying video are now available. Ellie has new songs in the works and a forthcoming EP. She looks forward to seeing how this musical journey unfolds.
