It’s nice to have industry friends who know what you like, so shoutout to the amazing Tallie Spencer for putting me up on this young lioness, JUNO Award nominated R&B singer-songwriter Aqyila and her new joint Pressure. She’s so smooth with it and delivers with some nuances reminiscent of R&B trailblazers; I think we’ll be talking about her for quite some time.
With “Pressure,” Aqyila continues the momentum that started with “Vibe For Me,” which was her successful debut single released last year. To date, “Vibe For Me,” has amassed nearly 3 million creation posts on TikTok as well as 10 million streams worldwide. Now, “Pressure” sets the tone for just exactly what Aqyila is capable of — and she’s just getting started.

Singer-songwriter Aqyila is on a mission to bring anthems back to pop music. Big, shiny, hopeful ones, that is. The goal was first achieved last year when the Canadian talent dropped “Vibe for Me (Bob for Me)”— her first official single with Sony Music Entertainment Canada.
