Prizm Drops Epic New Visual for ‘Tendencies’
Toronto has produced some major players in contemporary music throughout the last decade, and Prizm is proof that The 6 remains a hotspot for up-and-coming artists. His latest visual is for “Tendencies”, a steamy R&B cut that was featured on his debut EP “Eyes Wide Shut”. He borrows the title and even some hidden quotes and samples from Stanley Kubrick’s film of the same name, which ties in well with the theme of the song and EP as a whole.
“The correlation between infidelity, lust, and risk are all traits that tie both ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ the film and EP together,” he said. “This song was inspired by nights of being in some pretty dangerous circumstances and using my adventure for lust as a distraction from my position in life.”
Indeed, circumstances like lust, confrontation, and even a kidnapping are incorporated in the visual, which feels much more like a short film than an ordinary music video. According to Prizm, that’s exactly how he felt it should turn out.
“You can hear the song is a story, but really it’s a soap opera, a documentary if you will,” he said.
The track was produced by Apollo from the Toronto collective All Around or Not Around with additional help from international producers.
Prizm already has some major accomplishments under his belt, and his ambitions reach beyond just making music.
“I just wrapped up on set for a short film I started that will premiere in 2023, and I will be releasing a music video every month for the following year until the release of my sophomore project ‘SOLAAR ECLIPSE’,” he said. “I’m also thinking about reviving Toronto’s fashion scene; social epidemics are becoming a problem and it has nothing to do with how you express yourself vocally but fashionably.”
Odds are, Prizm will continue to impress with his unique sound and incredible visuals. He is definitely one to keep an eye out in not just the music scene, but the film and fashion scenes too.
