Quick Play Games to Enjoy in Your Lunchbreak

It’s nice getting so absorbed in a video game that you waste a whole afternoon on it and come out of your video game trance without a clue what year it is. However, not everybody has time for that. For those who are a little pressed for time, perhaps on their lunch break, or on the commute home from work, a game that moves a little quicker is sometimes necessary. Games that you can pick up and figure out how to play instantly are the best, as well as those that have regular save points, or can be played in full in as little as a few minutes. Thankfully, just as there are many huge blockbuster games with endless open worlds, there are plenty of simple games that fit the quick-play criteria perfectly. This is our pick of some of the best of them.

Northgard

Northgard is a game that can suck you in for hours, so be warned. Fans of Norse mythology will love the storyline behind this game from Shiro Games. It’s available for mobile which means you should be able to pick it up and put it down quickly enough to make it lunchtime friendly. The game focuses entirely on Norse mythology, allowing you to inhabit a somewhat forgotten world filled with dragons and ancient settlements. You’ll need a strategic mindset to overcome some of the threats sent your way, but you’ll be richly rewarded for your successes. As well to Northgard, Masters of Valhalla is another game that will really appeal to fans of Norse mythology. This game is available on a load of different sites, including some of the best online casinos in Saudi Arabia, as decided by Arabian Betting. These sites have all undergone an independent review, as well as having the opinions of their users collected. The ones at the top have been voted the best all-rounders, offering numerous deposit and withdrawal options, and an unparalleled choice of games, and are rated highly by their users. The game itself is a pretty new slot game that was released in March of this year. That means it’s got high-quality graphics and plenty of interesting features that modern slot games boast. The game offers large swings, wilds, scatters, and special symbols, that give it a more experimental feel. The theme of the game is purely Scandinavian with icy cold graphics that feature lots of the Norse Gods and Goddesses, resplendent in stunning armour.

Angry Birds

Angry Birds

Angry Birds have made their way into all kinds of unexpected places

Everyone has heard of Angry Birds. This game hit the headlines all the way back in 2009 for its cute and exciting gameplay and has gone from strength to strength ever since. Angry Birds has now seen its roster of games increase to various versions available on all kinds of different platforms, including a lifesize angry birds game that’s coming to Gamebox soon. Whilst the lifesize version might not be the most practical for your lunch break, the original Angry Birds is perfect. This game is available on iOS and Android and has a super small file size, meaning that even the fullest phone should be able to handle it. The aim of the game is simple, your flock of Angry Birds needs to save their precious eggs from a collection of naughty pigs. It’s a little bit silly, maybe even a little childish, but the simple controls, clear aim, and colorful graphics make this game endlessly playable. Plus, just like Masters of Valhalla, you’ll be able to pick up how everything works super quickly.

Insaniquarium

People that grew up in the 90s and early noughties will definitely remember this game. You’re given an aquarium with just a couple of baby guppies in it and told to grow your aquarium as much as you possibly can. The only catch is that your aquarium regularly gets invaded by creatures that want to eat your fish. You’ll need to save money to replenish your stock of guppies, keep them well fed and be able to drive away the hungry creatures with bubble guns and more. As you progress through the levels you’ll unlock different pets that provide welcome boosts to your tanks, such as a seahorse that throws out food for your guppies, or a pregnant mama fish that pops out babies. As well as these guys you’ll also be able to unlock different fish that poop out diamonds and gold coins. If you’re looking for a game that’s lighthearted, colourful, and seriously playable then Insaniquarium might be the one that has you laughing out loud, or getting straight up and buying yourself a fish tank. It’s available to buy on Steam or to play online, so knock yourself out.
