Hailing from the East Side of South Central L.A., aka ‘The Low Bottoms,’ ChefGH’s artistry is largely defined by his upbringing around the city’s unforgiving landscape. His music blurs the lines between the golden era of underground Hip-Hop and Pop, with an emphasis placed on powerful bars laced with intricate symbolism, and layers upon layers of hidden messages. Each track unfolds like an educational seminar – an outpouring of wisdom and truth from an artist who makes music to truly express from within.
Growing up in an environment rife with gangs, drugs, pimps, and prostitution, music served as a safe space away from the dark underbelly of L.A. It was an outlet for him to express himself and release his thoughts, with his records acting as a life journal that narrates the various chapters of his life.
