Who are the Headlinerz?
Upstart group the Headlinerz are the next big wave in the music industry. They work hard, they have positive personalities, everyone that meets them loves them; these boys don’t know how to just sit there when their song is being played. They have to perform every word and every line; that’s showmanship at its best. These boys are stars and are most definitely fit to be entertainers.
As you see yourselves, who are the Headlinerz?
The Headlinerz are Atlanta’s new super group. This duo stands out in any room they enter, with their strong personalities and super high energetic vibe. They are the life of the party!
Tell me a little bit about each of you?
Kam: I’m a 15 yr old that was born and raised in Decatur, GA. I produce music and rap. I like reading, skate boarding and playing video games. My ultimate dream is for my family to witness and be a part of my success.
Cul-de-Sac kid: I’m a 16 yr old born in Indianapolis, IN, that has been around the Music and Entertainment Industry my entire life. From LA to Atlanta, I’ve been learning the ropes from my dad.
What brought you to the entertainment industry and music specifically?
Kam: I’ve been a fan of the Hip Hop culture my entire life. At a young age, I knew music was what I wanted to do. When I was in 8th grade at Miller Grove Middle School when I met this new kid from Indianapolis named Cul-de-sac Kid. He heard me rap outside the school, invited me to his Studio and the rest is Legendary.
Cul-de-Sac Kid: My dad had a recording studio in the house and was always working with different Artists, so there was always music around me. One day I got in trouble at school and my punishment was to write a song. At the time I didn’t want to do it, but when we started recording the song; I started having fun and my punishment turned into my reward.
What and/or who influenced the sound you bring today?
Groups that influence us are “Kid-n-Play”, “Rae Sremmurd”, “Social Experiment”, “Street Money Execs” and “Odd Future.”
What message are you trying to send to your audience?
Speak your mind; don’t be afraid to be yourself and have fun (pump it up).
What do you want people to get from your music?
When people listen to the Headlinerz, we want people left with a positive and fun feeling. We want to make them press replay.
Tell us about your current project?
The current project we are working on is #Projectheadline. A movement of two young, high energetic kids that represent fun. It’s featuring Jacques, Cool Amerika, Scotty ATL, Silento and more.
What do you feel has been your greatest life achievement so far?
Our greatest life achievement has been being positive figures for other kids.
If you could collaborate with one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Chance the Rapper because he is where I want to be one day and I can relate to him, also Bankroll Fresh.
If you had to pick one song of yours, that really explains YOU, what would it be?
Kam: “A Different Level”
Cul-da-sac: “Double Tap Dat”
Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…
We tried to make some grits with no salt but with sugar and cheese. It didn’t turn out so well.
