Official Hype: Houston’s Branzil leads the new generation

BranzilO.5#OfficiaHype Award winner with Houston legend Zero during Summer Jam 2015 We’ve been following Branzil for quite some time and he earned The Hype Magazine’s 2015 #OfficialHype Award winner and represent’s the some of the best new sounds coming out of the storied Houston, TX music scene. His hot new single “Good Thangz” ft. Houston’s iconic rapper Paul Wall and TaylorMade has earned him continued support throughout the industry. Sway Calloway (Sway in the Morning Shade45 SiriusXM) even put in his co-sign on social media, blasting a snippet of  his single “Ghost” via social media.

Branzil’s latest full length project “Omniscient” is a master piece of sonics, lyrics and energy greatly needed in music at this point in time. It’s original yet pays homage to the spirit and essence of Hip-Hop. 4/4 pillars respected in my opinion ~ JD

HipHopWeekly’s J. Bachelor rightfully extolls the talents of the young MC saying, “Laced with airtight production, clever wordplay and hooks that stick to the rib, Omniscient is a fitting display of the talents this young MC brings to the table.” (J. Bachelor, HipHopWeekly) Listen to the full album here.

Background

Writer. Producer. Rapper. Eighteen year old Houston, Texas native, Branzil, is a triple threat as he bombards the rap game with his lyrically aggressive style while putting the finishing touches on his latest album, Omniscient. “One thing I like about him is he doesn’t have the traditional Houston, Texas style and I always like somebody that’s different. There’s no one you can compare him to,”says Houston hit maker Michael “5000” Watts (Swisha House) in an October 2014 issue of Arena.com.

Born Brandon Bazile and given the moniker, Branzil, by his godfather, Flavor Flav of Public Enemy, Branzil grew up in and around the music industry along with some of the biggest names in Hip Hop. As a young boy, he was featured in several music videos with hip hop artists Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Juvenile, TI and UGK to name a few. At the young age of 15, Branzil began to take his late night rapping skills seriously, in addition to starting his own music label, Creative Thinking Music, and the outcome was his first mixtape bearing the same name. His music has been so well received it even reached legendary performer George Clinton of Parliament/Funkadelic fame professing that Branzil’s club anthem, Get Up Get Down, is “badder than a mutha!”

Branzil wrecks the stage at #SXSW 2015Branzil’s authentic confidence is always the highlight of his powerful performances which he solidly delivers to eager and growing audiences. He has performed three consecutive years at well known SXSW Music Festival and has opened up for rap hard hitters Geto Boys at the Texas Rap Fest, Las Vegas and Chicago. Branzil has even had a taste of the skillful wordsmith as he performed with DJ Premier to hype crowds. Most recently, Branzil was interviewed on Sway Calloway’s Shade 45 Radio Show “Sway In The Morning”. Sway even blasted through his social media channels a snippet of his song “Ghost” from the mixtape similarly titled. Responses to a subsequent tweet by Sway of Branzil’s performance range from “Dope!” to “I LOVE THIS KID!” Branzil continues to work hard to maintain his show readiness and states that his most memorable career moment was being able to open up on tour for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist Public Enemy, with Branzil describing the moment as “surreal” and “an unbelievable opportunity.” The Houston Press added in its December 2013 issue that Branzil “displayed a quick, breathless flow and budding stage presence that belied his absolute lack of notoriety.” At his young age, people are amazed at his lyrical combativeness.

The single is currently available on iTunes. His complete album is a work of masterful lyrics and solid production
