Dandelot Drops New Video for “Tutu”

Following his debut single “David”, NY-based experimental artist and producer Dandelot (pronounced DON-de-loh) has returned with his eclectic new single and visual: “Tutu”.

With a background in classical composition and pianist for various New York dance institutions, Dandelot’s unique style of Hip-Hop is unlike anything else you’ve heard. This all-DIY artist is fearlessly creating music that delicately blurs genres. Coupled with his highly stylized visuals, Dandelot’s music is a full sensory,  immersive experience that’s not be slept on.

The classical influences are evident throughout the track which features a bouncey Hip-Hop beat with a classical influenced piano loop. The self-directed video doubles down on the ballet theme, where we find Dandelot rapping in front of a trio of dancers synchronized to the beat.

Discussing the inspiration behind the “Tutu”, Dandelot says: “I thought it would be cool to take something that I might play in a ballet class and make a beat out of it, so that bouncy keyboard part at the heart of the instrumental is exactly that. You could hear the beat played during a combination in any ballet studio. It evolved from there, but I still feel like dance is at the center of the track and of course, the video.”
