Lil Tecca Tops Billboard’s Hip-Hop/R&B Charts with We Love You Tecca, Lands One of Rap’s Biggest Opening Sales Weeks of 2019

With Five Hits Listed on the Billboard Hot 100, Including #4 Hit “Ransom,” the Queens-Born Teenager Announces the “We Love You Tecca Tour,” His First Headlining Sojourn

Coming in hot with one of rap’s biggest debut sales weeks of 2019, New York teenager Lil Tecca lands at Number One on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and bows at #4 on the Billboard 200, with his new album We Love You Tecca. The 17-year-old rapper’s debut project earned over 68,000 Streaming-Equivalent Units, including over 100 million audio streams. With five songs from the project on the Billboard Hot 100, Tecca cemented his position as one of the biggest new stars in hip-hop.

Approaching 1 billion streams worldwide, the album’s lead single “Ransom” maintains its place at #1 on the Billboard Streaming Songs Chart for the third straight week. On the verge of being certified platinum, “Ransom” ascends to #2 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and reaches a new #4 peak on the Hot 100. The single has amassed over 500 million streams in the U.S. and over 750 million global streams. It also ascended to the number one spots at Spotify (where it remained at the top for one month), Apple Music and Soundcloud, where “Ransom” broke the record for consecutive days at #1 on their Top 50 chart. “Ransom” currently sits in the Top 10 at Rhythm & Urban Radio and in the Top 40 on Pop Radio.

On the heels of “Ransom”, his follow-up single “Did It Again” recently earned a spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, landed in the top 25 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart, hit #9 on Soundcloud Top 50 chart, and has garnered over 30 million streams and counting thus far. He currently has 3 other tracks– “Out of Luck,” “Shots” and “Love Me”–on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart and in the Top 50 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart.

On the heels of his massive summer, Tecca announces the “We Love You Tecca Tour,” which embarks this fall. The tour includes a show at Rolling Loud New York (Oct 12th), which takes place in Tecca’s home borough Queens.

Hailing from New York, recording artist Lil Tecca is breaking through in 2019 with one of the biggest hits of the year and creating a genre all his own. Raised by Jamaican parents in Springfield Gardens, you can hear the dancehall influence sprinkled in many of his songs. He started rapping in his early teens, inspired by artists such as Speaker Knockerz, Chief Keef, and others. At just 16 years old, Lil Tecca has started to build a huge following online releasing singles “Count Me Out”, “Love Me”,  “Did it Again”, and “Molly Girl”.  “Did it Again” was his first break out track produced by Taz Taylor and Nick Mira and charted #4 on the New & Hot Worldwide chart on SoundCloud. It received over 6 million plays on the platform in just 3 months. His current hit, “Ransom” has garnered over 235 million streams on Spotify and 58 million streams on Soundcloud. The single has pushed its way on to the biggest playlists on all platforms and landed at #1 on the Spotify US Chart,  #1 on the Apple Music Hip Hop chart and is in the Top 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The single is currently being played on all radio formats including Top 40. In addition, the Cole Bennet directed video has over 100 million views on Youtube and counting.
