Darey links up with Patoranking on new single ‘Jojo’

Multi-platinum Afro&B star Darey has joined forces with reggae-dancehall artist Patoranking on new single ‘Jojo’, out alongside visuals on 18th September.

An infectious summer party jam, ‘Jojo’ sees Darey and Patoranking trade verses amidst sun-kissed, high-energy percussion and spiritual flutes. The video, shot entirely in Lagos, Nigeria, is pristine and tells a story of a world post-lockdown, a reality which humanity longs for. The video opens with Darey riding alongside Nigeria’s first all-female biker crew, Female Bikers Initiative (FBI), and features iconic city shots, electrifying dance moves, good vibes and colourful outfits.

It marks Darey’s second single release following last month’s ‘Jah Guide Me’, which shot to #1 in the Nigerian Singles Charts and the top 20 UK iTunes charts. Both tracks are set to feature on the ‘Way Home’ EP, his first extended play release since his acclaimed 2015 album Naked.

The son of legendary African jazz musician and entertainer Art Alade, Darey Art Alade aka Darey is a multiple award-winning artist and seasoned live performer who has shared stages with the likes of Beyoncé, Wizkid, Jay Z, Ciara, Cardi B, Burna Boy, Sean Paul, Usher, R Kelly, Akon, Lionel Richie and many more. His rich, diverse back catalogue has racked up millions of record sales and streams, helping him amass a loyal following across Africa and beyond.

Also a creative entrepreneur, Darey is the co-founder of Livespot360, a creative collective responsible for last year’s Livespot X Festival which saw Darey bring Cardi B to Africa for the first time as she headlined across its Lagos and Accra events.

A similarly decorated Nigerian artist, Patoranking is an international reggae star whose dancehall anthems have resonated from Nigeria to Jamaica. He’s extended his influence into North America through partnerships with U.S. labels EMPIRE and VP Records and toured with hip-hop/soul icon Lauryn Hill.
