Reekado Banks Taps Kida Kudz and EO for New Single, ‘Need More’

“Need More” is a sonic intersection of the UK’s strappy grime music and Africa’s modern music form, Afrobeats

For much of the last 18 months, Reekado Banks has made it his mission to glide melodiously over some of the most moistened instrumentals in the Nigerian pop space. Luxuriating in the steady feel of these sturdy beats and producing some amazing work like “Put In Pressure” and “Rora.”

2020 has seen more of the same with “Options,” his single with British-Nigerian artiste, Parker Ighile. Now gearing up for an upcoming E.P dubbed “Off the Record”, Reekado Banks offers a grime-influenced single, “Need More”.

Need More offers something in its liquid chorus for everybody who listens to it: pining for a blazing romance, a twinge of nostalgia, or a shot of self-praise. British artists, Kida Kudz and EO, weave a tapestry of ideas around Banks’ delivery making for a cohesive offering.

The song produced by Blaize Beats is accompanied with a lustrous video shot in the city of London.

One of Africa’s most consistent hitmakers with over 170million streams and 6 million Instagram followers to his name, Reekado Banks is a multiple award-winning Nigerian singer-songwriter who’s featured on records for Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and YCee amongst others, having signed a deal with the revered African music label ‘Mavin Records’ in 2014. In 2016, Reekado Banks released his debut album ‘SPOTLIGHT‘ to wide acclaim, with the project earning him a top 10 spot in Billboard’s World Albums Chart, becoming one of the few contemporary African artists to achieve this. Having since toured the US and launched his own record label ‘Banks Music’, 2019 saw Reekado perform at London’s 02 Arena and drop a series of hit singles as the excitement begins to build ahead of the release of his anticipated new project ‘Off The Record” which looks set to propel the Nigerian to legendary status.
