Hitmaker Skylar Grey’s New Song is Fit for Billie Eilish

SKYLAR WILL RELEASE A NEW SINGLE EVERY FRIDAY IN OCTOBER
Today, hit performer and songwriter Skylar Grey releases “Fucking Crazy” – the first of five tracks the five-time GRAMMY-nominee will be releasing each Friday in October. The song was written and produced entirely by Grey and is accompanied by a video set in the future – Sky directed, edited and styled the video herself – with Ryan McKinnon shooting said clip on a RED Komodo camera. It looks back at humanity’s technological accomplishments through the decades, which raises the question – will these advancements benefit humanity or ultimately destroy it?
The inspiration behind “Fucking Crazy” stems from Grey recognizing that all humans make mistakes and do things we aren’t proud of, but it can be hard to see it at the time. Grey’s rich vocals shine through on the lush, piano-led track, making the hauntingly beautiful single easy to get lost in.

Since releasing her most recent solo album, Natural Causes in 2016, Skylar Grey has kept busy. In 2019 she released her project Angel with Tattoos, which Idolator dubbed as one of “The 20 Best EPs Of 2019.” She co-wrote and co-produced the song “Leaving Heaven” from Eminem’s recent album, making her the first female to produce an Eminem track. The year prior, she co-wrote “Everything I Need,” the title track for the blockbuster film Aquaman with her fiancé Elliott Taylor – the duo performed the song together on Jimmy Kimmel Live!; she sat down with Trevor Noah to discuss her illustrious career as a singer and hit songwriter on The Daily Show and performed a medley of her hits. Earlier that year, she performed her rendition of the Ben E King classic “Stand By Me” on the Today Show–the song was featured in a Budweiser commercial during Super Bowl LII. In 2017, she was featured on Macklemore’s PLATINUM single “Glorious,” which she performed everywhere from GMA to Fallon to the AMAs. She also performed on SNL with Eminem for his album Revival (Interscope), on which she wrote 4 songs, including “Walk On Water” featuring Beyoncé.
