keshi Releases ‘always’ Final Installment in His EP Trilogy

keshi, the alternative pop artist from Houston who’s rapidly rising  with 1 billion plus streams, released his latest project always today. The last installment to his trilogy of EPs, which included skeletons and bandaids, the introspective yet versatile 6-track is a testament to the 25-year-old’s musicianship. A self-reliant artist, keshi wrote, produced, engineered and played all the instrumentation on the project to ultimately prove to himself that he’s capable of doing so. When pieced together, the names of the three EPs describe the cycle of a relationship, which often includes hidden baggage, instant gratifications and a longing for it to last forever.

Monikered as keshi, a phonetic play on his name, Casey Luong is fearless when it comes to expressing himself wholeheartedly in song. Known for his soft yet commanding vocals, lamenting lyrics of lost love and intrinsic mix of guitar and lo-fi beats, “the rawness that underpins keshi’s sound keeps fans coming back for more.” (VICE) keshi broke into the scene with his 2018 project, The Reaper, earning early recognition for shaping the lo-fi discourse that’s flanking pop music. “keshi is now part of a peer group consisting of Flying Lotus and Joji and has proven to be a key voice in the internet-led genre,” PAPER declared. Since then, keshi’s generated over 1B streams worldwide, signed with Tier 1 Collective and Island Records, and established a dedicated fan base that includes star artists like BTS, LANY, MAX, NCT 17, Stray Kids and more. From Apple Music’s Travis Mills to Spotify’s New Music Friday and BTS member Jungkook and RM’s personal playlists, keshi’s music has been in constant rotation by a diverse global audience. In November of last year, keshi made his Billboard debut when skeletons hit #59 on the charts. Last month, “drunk,” a single off of always, did 1M plus streams on Spotify in 24 hours. A natural performer and gifted instrumentalist, keshi’s live performances further speak to his musicality and caught the attention of Fender who made keshi an official partner of the brand. Later this year, keshi will be releasing a vinyl with all three EPs. Stay tuned for more news from keshi.
