Xbox and Multi-Platinum Recording Artist, Saweetie, Host Inaugural Star-Studded Saweetie Bowl

The Virtual Gaming Competition Featured Rap Artist Snoop Dogg, Three-Time Super Bowl Champion Julian Edelman and Professional Gamer and Madden Bowl 2020 Champion, XSET JOKE

Today, Xbox announced its official partnership with multi-platinum rap artist and entrepreneur, Saweetie to debut the first-ever Saweetie Bowl gaming competition. The inaugural event took place ahead of this weekend’s big game.

Inside Snoop Dogg’s Inglewood gaming compound in the heart of Los Angeles, the January 29^th event featured a star-studded lineup of coaches, hosts and celebrity guests. Serving as the evening’s host and commentator, Saweetie was joined by professional gamer XSET JOKE as the game’s official coach and advisor. Prolific west coast rapper, Snoop Dogg faced off with three-time Super Bowl champion and New England Patriots wide receiver, Julian Edelman, in an EA SPORTS Madden NFL 21 tournament on Xbox.

“We are kicking off this year’s big game the ICY way with an exciting Madden gaming competition together with Xbox and a few of my friends,” said Saweetie. “Football is big in my family and this year’s festivities brings all of us together in support of a good cause.”

This commemorative game raised $10,000 with donations made to the Snoop Youth Football League. Saweetie and Xbox crowned Julian Edelman as the official 2021 Saweetie Bowl champion, honoring the star player with a custom, diamond-encrusted Saweetie Bowl chain to celebrate the NFL player’s win.

Saweetie Bowl marks the first of many esports tournaments and exciting collaborations to come with Saweetie and Xbox.
