Meet DJ Malachi – Providence’s Music Prodigy Who is Revolutionizing the Industry
When you peel back the layers of DJ Malachi, you realize there is so much more to the man than what he reveals. When people think of DJs, they imagine a party lifestyle, but if you take a closer look at DJ Malachi’s life, you realize he is made of a different cloth.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, DJ Malachi’s background entails strong values of family and faith. Being a son of a Pastor and raised in a family of musicians, he was taught the ideals of togetherness and a life of harmony, which can be seen in his music.
His music inspiration came from his father, who basically taught him everything from a piano to the bass guitar, drums, turntables and gave him vocal lessons. From there on, he sharpened his singing skills by being a part of the church choir and finally getting into electronic music by the age of 12.
The main turning point in his life and his music career was the death of his beloved brother in 2017. He focused on creating music that people could connect to on an emotional level and took inspiration from artists like Jay-Z, Nipsey Hussle, and Jasmine Sullivan as their music promotes self-sufficiency and being independent.
Given his interest in harmony and making a connection with his audience, he knew exactly what type of music he wanted to make. His next record, called DJ MALACHI FT, is set to be rolled around in the 2nd quarter of 2021, which is going to be heavily focused on producing music for self-healing and nourishment.
Malachi doesn’t only think of himself as a DJ but a helper to everyone in the industry. He works as a true mentor for his team. He handpicks all the artists he works with, overlooks the little details such as sound, structure, photoshoots, video production, behind the scenes, etc. By using his years of expertise, he taps into the potential of emerging artists and gets the best out of them.
Malachi’s success story is not as simple as other DJs. It’s an enticing tale of a music enthusiast who has struggled to work his way up from his desktop computer to where he is right now. Even today’s his biggest dream and achievement is striving to work on music as he has loved doing it since the age of 5. His upcoming album is a mix of different genres so that he can appeal to different people through his work.
Despite his dedication and commitment to music, Malachi still hasn’t forgotten where he came from. He still holds as much admiration for his family as before, which gives a great idea about what kind of a person he really is. Having seen it all over the years, he is focusing on creating intellectual projects. He is on his way to leave behind a legacy and create music that transcends the shackles of time and lives throughout eternity and connects with people regardless of their age, nationality, and religion.
