Gio Dee is a risk taker, he’s the artist that you can count on to get what he needs by any means necessary.
What was the defining moment that brought you to music?
Rapping at my school talent show to D4L’s “Betcha Can’t Do it Like Me” I remixed it and called it “Betcha Can’t Chew it Like Me,” a whole rap about bubblegum. Please don’t ask me to recite it. Lol
What do you look to bring to the music world at large?
I look to bring the music world a piece of me, a piece of the man my mother and the streets raised.
Tell us about your current project Excited For The Hate and what it means for you.
It simply means I’m excited for what’s to come. This is me on a new level. This is me embracing all the comments over the years that people had to say about me. This is me excited for the expected hate this time around.
What was the most fun for you in creating the project?
The most fun for me in creating this project was making the music, the process. I bought my own in-home studio in full, you can and will hear the difference this time around in my voice and delivery. I’m perfecting my craft!
How do you see the evolution of music going over the next few years?
I see it already evolving. To get your work mixed and mastered, I see digital studios and virtual studios. It’s digitally happening. Sonically I’m looking forward to how music changes, it’s unpredictable.
Has COVID changed the way you look at the world, if yes, how so?
It makes me feel like the government can say anything and the world is going to believe it.
Outside of music, what are your passions?
My family, the family I’m building on my own and the family I’m building through music. Also, Call Of Duty, you’ll never touch me. I just started playing golf too, call me Gio Woods lol
What’s been the funniest WTF moment for you thus far in your career?
Honestly, the majority of these stories are incriminating. I plead the fifth.
