Who Is Rising Star MC SNILLOW?
From the outside looking in, who is MC SNILLOW?
MC SNILLOW is a young man that believes in using the power of music to be a positive influence on his generation. This explains why all my songs have a strong conscious message that it comes with. Also, am an activist that advocates for social, economic and political reforms in Africa. Furthermore, my heart bleeds when I see people suffer, that made me to open up a foundation called Kapon empire, the aim of Kapon empire foundation is to FREELY help those in need. It’s not possible to aid everyone but we reach out to those we can. So far, we have put kids back to school, made food, clothing, health care etc available for under privileged kids and elderly people in various communities west Africa. Prior to the above, mc Snillow is a high school graduate, and after that I went ahead to acquire a university degree in public administration.
What was the defining moment that brought you to music?
The defining moments that made me to choose music was the killing of peaceful and armless protesters in Biafra by the Nigeria government in 2017 during the national army’s operation python dance mission. I was so touched that I decided to use music to bring about a mental revolution in the minds of Africans and to also let the world know about what’s going on in Africa. And that killings was what gave me the inspiration to write the song that will become my debut single. The song is titled – I STILL SEE NO CHANGE. “I still see no change” was later dropped in 2018.
Tell us about your current project and what it means for you
My current project right now is helping my artists, DonaDon and PG, to be heard by the world. That’s basically where am focused at right now. Also, I have been researching online for a film school in America, because I would like to come to America to study and learn cinematography. I’m a script writer, so learning how to make movies will help me shoot my own movies without much stress.
What does music mean to you?
Music is life. Music is everything to me. It’s just not business or a tool for change. It’s something that lifts up my soul.
Outside of music, what are your passions?
I yearn for a better living for me and the rest of other people in the world. For that to happen, we need to get out there and push those in power to make a positive change . So, the desire for a positive change pushes me to be in the front line of protests.
What’s been your funniest WTF moment thus far in your career?
It’s unbelievable that after all much efforts we have put in place to witness a change, nothing much have happened. Regions like Nigeria is still a big mess with tyrant leaders. Various politicians in Africa is still fueling more religious and tribal war. One thing I can say we have achieved is waking up the conscious minds of the people in most regions of Africa.
Nevertheless, we shall keep pushing.
