Stylish Stars: Five Fashion Designers That Celebs Love!

Being a celebrity is a 24/7 business. If you are a talented singer or musician or a star of the big screen, it’s no longer enough to just be a hit for the duration of the projects you are involved in.

Now, if you are a real A-Lister, your entire life is likely to be the focus of media and fan attention and you need to know that you are not committing any fashion faux pas, otherwise the backlash can be as brutal as your latest film or album reviews.

Basically if you are in the public eye you can not afford to have a single slip up when it comes to the outfits you wear and the accessories that add that extra bling to them. For this reason alone celebrities will always look to the top designers for guidance and assistance.

The very best in the business will commonly wear a certain designer on multiple occasions, to help create a bond between the two names. Others concentrate mainly on their look for the big day’s in their careers. Be that their Oscar nominations or the launch of a tour or even a stage outfit for a sold-out concert.

Tom Ford

When it comes to fashion designers with a style that’s almost instantly recognizable, then Tom Ford is certainly a name that deserves a mention. Ford burst onto the scene in the 1980s and is an inspiration to this day. He’s also branched out into filmmaking, with both his directorial debut, A Single Man, and the excellent Nocturnal Animals, receiving Academy Award nominations.

His eyewear range is particularly popular and his designer glasses frames are commonly seen at galas and premieres and perhaps more importantly are massive sellers with us mere mortals.

His list of endorsements from stars include the likes of Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, Hugh Jackman and Robert Downey Jr. Basically if you are an actor and you want to be clothed in a way that leaves you looking sophisticated and dripping with class, then you go and see Mr. Ford.

Stella McCartney

Clearly as the daughter of Beatles legend Paul McCartney, Stella is very much a celebrity in her own right. She is also a hugely talented fashion designer who has excelled in her trade for more than two decades. She became the head of Chloe at just 26 and is regularly dressing stars for their big day.

Among the fashionable celebrities that Stella has dressed are Oscar winning actresses Nicole Kidman and Gwyneth Paltrow. She also designed Madonna’s wedding dress for her 2000 nuptials with Guy Ritchie as well as famously putting together the famous white halterneck dress that Meghan Markle wowed the world back in 2018. She truly is a designer to the stars.

Donna Karan

She is the DK in DKNY and is the go-to designer of choice for a host of celebrity women and she’s been dressing the stars since the 1970s. No award ceremony would be complete without a Donna Karan dress being worn and referenced by a never-ending list of leading ladies.

Singers Beyonce and Rihanna have oozed sex appeal in both Karan outfits and eyewear. In recent years the likes of Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian have been big DK fans. Add to this J-Lo and Jennifer Aniston, plus Scarlett Johansson and you have pretty much every female icon of a generation. Karan’s roster is pretty special.

Kate Moss, Miley Cyrus, Naomi Campbell, Drew Barrymore and Elle Fanning are just a selection of those who wear Marc Jacobs’ religiously and you can expect his star to shine for decades to come.

Jean-Paul Gaultier

Something of an eccentric, to say the least, Gaultier is a fashion designer who takes risks and if you are a celebrity who is willing to push the envelope then it’s likely that you will have worn one or two of his creations over the years.

Jean-Paul has been a fixture on the fashion circuit since his first individual collection in 1976 and his distinctive style have won him a legion of fans. Gaultier is still loved by young and old, with his looks still being hip and trendy enough for the latest set of celebrities.

FKA Twigs, Kendall Jenner and Cardi B have all recently worn Gaultier designs and though he called time on his illustrious career last year, his designs are still very much an item on the red carpet.
