The Godfather of Funk George Clinton Celebrates His 80th Birthday

The Godfather of Funk, the legendary George Clinton celebrated his 80th birthday with an intimate gathering of family and lifelong friends in Los Angeles on Thursday July 22.

Produced by Parade Agency, Joe Muller events, Vivian Scott Chew for Chew Entertainment, attendees included nationally recognized trial lawyer Ben Crump, Snoop Dogg, singer/songwriter Kesha, Flying Lotus, Raphael Saadiq, DJ Cassidy, author/filmmaker Nelson George, DJ Battlecat, Vivian and Ray Chew, Rahsaan Patterson, director and producer Reginald Hudlin, and renowned artist Cory Henry.

Celebrants enjoyed the outdoor garden party under the beautifully lit LA sky while DJ Battlecat kept the dancefloor covered.

Mixologists served complimentary signature cocktails and other beverages provided by Brown Estate Wine, Just Water, Nomadica Wine, Revel Spirits, and Selva Rey Rum.

Attendees enjoyed hospitality by Chef Mike Magliano, Bellyman X Wood Fired Wings, Chef Kat Turner (Highly Likely) Jason Winters (Speak Cheezy), Alana Jones, and Chef Kim Prince (Hotville Chicken).
