Stone Mecca Releases First Single “Stay Away Shay”

Stone Mecca formed a love triangle between roots rock, blues and funk. Stone Mecca has done this and more combining his love of hard-hitting drums and funk-driven bass lines with grinding guitar riffs and soulful melodies that passionately paint a picture of his life’s journey. Stone Mecca also delivers a live performance that’s even more dramatic and passionate than the recordings.

A self-taught musician, Stone Mecca honed his craft by listening to artists like Sly Stone, BB King, Parliament, Al Green, Prince, Jimi Hendrix and Earth, Wind & Fire. “Music is my comfort zone, my vice, my drug of choice. I even named my guitar – I call her Eloise and she’s like my other woman. I love her unconditionally and when I perform, I give her everything I have.”

In “Stay Away Shay” Stone Mecca explains his struggle with the thoughts of a mind-blowing longtime lover and his newly-found love interest. Stone incites that it’s a mental fight for him and an actual request for Shay. In the true definition of the title, Shay can be about anyone that ain’t no good for your present expansion.
