Ridi Unveils Bold New Single “What You’re All About”

Already making waves internationally, Rising Singer-Songwriter Ridi unveils her newest single, “What You’re All About” worldwide. Listen Here:

Baring it all with an unabashedly honest look into finding ‘perfection’, Ridi hooks us right in with her unfiltered attitude and lush vocals. Seamlessly blending alt-rock with pop-dance, she brazenly shines a light into the idea that ‘perfection’ isn’t found, but comes from your own individuality and uniqueness, showcasing a lyrical wisdom that’s beyond her years.

“Having music that talks about these emotions,” Ridi explains, “I feel is really important, as most teens do feel this way. You don’t need to have a perfect body or have a boyfriend/girlfriend to be happy, but everybody is made to believe that they don’t fit it if they don’t have that. But I think we are at the age where we are just discovering what perfect is to us, and a generic meaning of happiness or perfection should not be drilled into us.”

It’s these unifying themes that puts Ridi at the forefront of her fans and are turning the heads of industry tastemakers alike, as she taps into the universal human experience all wrapped up in a fun, new sound that’s presented through a fresh, Gen-Z perspective.

ABOUT RIDI:

Ridi’s love for music started when she was about 8-years old. Apart from the usual running around the house humming melodies at that early age, Ridi also had her formal training that started in classical music and jazz, later combining operatic lessons before finally turning to pop music. Listening to her music, you’d be forgiven for thinking the European-Singer of Indian descent is much older than she really is. Discontent with the superficial, Ridi uses her voice to tackle themes of inclusivity in the belief that music should be for everyone, challenging the traditional notions of what “popular” music is. Her experiences studying at a Swiss Boarding School during her junior and middle-school years made her recognize the social pressures that teens often feel of fitting into a society which categorizes generic themes of what is accepted as cool, disbarring individuality to be frowned upon as different.

Beyond music, Ridi combats these troubles through the Stop the B Campaign, co-created with her sister Vasundhara. Together, their work shines a spotlight on the fact that it doesn’t matter who you are or what your background is, anyone can face oppression. Throughout the campaign, Ridi and her sister promote awareness around the issue, encouraging people to identify social and emotional bullying behaviors and to become “active bystanders” and actively engage in combating the problem, as well as encouraging survivors to share their stories in coming out of the negative stigma attached to talking about feeling victimized or being afraid to be different. Their campaign together has earned endorsements from international superstar and footballer, Ronaldinho, world-renowned independent academics, and an invitation to speak at the UNESCO World Anti-Bullying Forum this November with Ridi being the youngest speaker ever.

Ridi continues her work to curate a space of inclusivity with her upcoming EP, slated for release in 2022, and its accompanying music videos. With lyrics and melodies written straight from the heart, she aims for her music to tackle some of humanity’s most unifying themes, all while showcasing her Pop-Rock / Dance feel with distinct flair.
