Lena Waithe’s Hillman Grad Records Drops Davion Farris Visual for “Bad Guy”

Davion Farris is a two-time GRAMMY®-nominated and ASCAP Award-winning R&B singer-songwriter from Inglewood known for his introspective, soulful ballads that recount interpersonal situations with emotional maturity. Brother to groundbreaking artists SiR and D-Smoke, Farris comes from a musical family and is known for his introspective, soulful ballads that recount interpersonal situations with emotional maturity. In fact, Farris isn’t afraid to be vulnerable in his music. He has previously written with and for artists such as Mary J. Blige, Tyrese, Trey Songz, Ginuwine, Jill Scott, SiR, and more. In early 2021, Farris began sending his music to TV shows and quickly found success.  Most recently, his newly released single, Sometimes and his 2017 song, Make Love was featured in SHOWTIME’s The Chi

Of his new single and music video, Davion added, “Bad Guy is about understanding that pain and heartbreak isn’t exclusive to men or women. It’s also about learning how to stick by your boundaries, and an honest look at a man being the one in that position of vulnerability (as you’ll often find me).”

His music has also been featured in BET’s Twenties. After working with numerous shows produced by Award-winning writer, producer and actor Lena Waithe, she took notice and signed him to her new Def Jam-partnered record label, Hillman Grad Records where he’s currently working on his EP project slated for spring 2022.
